Right from the entrance, the number of arches seamlessly integrates into the various design elements, serving as a unifying feature. Upon stepping into the apartment, the foyer has a custom console unit crafted in veneer and PU paint. The unit integrates with dual arches in metal, complementing the main door’s screen. This piece at the entrance establishes the material palette and sets the tone for the design consistency throughout the space.
The living room boasts a veneer-finished arched door, leading to one of the master bedrooms. Paired with a circular-framed tropical wallpaper, this setting forms a captivating backdrop for the olive and beige-toned sofa. It seamlessly transitions into the living room, serving as a partition that doubles as the backdrop for the TV unit. It discreetly screens the kitchen from direct view. The introduction of this design feature controls the scale of the open layout and emphasizes the spaciousness of the living and dining areas.
The kitchen is a simple, clutter-free space, with an ivory backsplash complemented by quartz countertops in brown and slate blue laminate. Further along the hallway, the common hand wash area livens up the corner with its glazed green tiles, tall arched mirror, custom metal shelves, and freestanding washbasin.
The dining area features a 6-seater dining table with an ivory top, supported by a striking black metal base, and accompanied by chairs upholstered in soft pink fabric with metal frames. Adjacent to this setup is a modest swing without a backrest, positioned to overlook both the deck and the dining table.
On the dining wall, there’s a minimalist puja space, featuring a backdrop of a custom arched terrazzo panel. The temple area is distinguished by veneer paneling that cleverly conceals the column offset.
Positioned strategically, the mirror reflects not only the arched door of the master bedroom from the opposite end but also captures the details of the arched wardrobe within the bedroom, resulting in a visually captivating effect.
This wardrobe, which extends to form the dressing unit, is finished in dual tones of PU paint, aligning with the bedroom’s pastel theme. The bed features leatherette upholstery in a muted teal hue paired with grey fabric, flanked by elegant side units on either side, maximising functionality. Three circular niches have been introduced into the wall behind the bed to address the offset created by a long column within the bedroom. The entire bedroom emanates a gentle charm, radiating a cosy, homely vibe.
The second master bedroom features a minimalist design approach. A wooden-finished bed with a long veneer headboard, which also serves as a display shelf. Completing the space is a fixed side unit that also functions as a dressing table, complemented by an inverted arched mirror.
The children’s bedroom is partially raised in wooden flooring. The bed is positioned towards one end to create more space on the other side, giving the room a larger appearance. The front of the bed serves as a niche for book storage.
A curved back panel conceals storage for the dressing area, along with a channel to accommodate a sliding shutter for the narrow window. The custom-made sliding shutter, serving as an artistic element, draws attention and infuses a playful vibe into the room. Its colors complement the overall beige and rust tones of the space beautifully.
Keeping in mind the design objectives, this residence strives to achieve a perfect balance of design elegance, functionality and simplicity.
