A box filled with ideas, a treasure trove of thinking outside the blush. Kanso house is a modern residence that translates the simplistic lines & warm natural palette into a traditionally zen space. A confluence of traditional Japanese styles of design brings symphony to the space, by creating an environment of peace & relaxation that acts as an inner & eternal sanctuary from the stresses & strains of life in the outside world.

“The idea of creating one’s personal space and achieving it is the most satisfying aspect of the project”. Following the client’s brief that revolved around heavy influence from Japanese design, it was essential to develop & display the culture of minimalism as the culture of Japanese confluence in the design. Wherein the personal spaces were treated like memorabilia that goes on your desk after a vacation, or that first scribble of your little one that gets proudly framed on the living room wall.
Following the thought, the idea design considered the idea of creating a space which was dynamic in nature. That way, the sunlight could travel till the end of the room and also allowed the user to recreate his personal habitat every now and then, which brings energy and calm to the entire space.
They say harmony lies close to nature, and once you bring nature to your home, the world starts living in a balanced symphony. Thinking of the colors of nature, the pale blue of the sky, the dark grays of rocks and the golden beige of a sandy beach, Kanso House is a habitat transpired from our surroundings and details that prevails out of nature.
Each material is palpable & captivating that it makes one feel the textures. The soft floor allows the user to walk barefoot in the calm room and enjoy the subtle play of light and shadows created by the sunlight entering through the green screens, Kanso House succeeds in narrating the aspiration which is individual yet feels so collective as one enters into the space.
