Editor’s Note: Built on the promising and quirky angles, the exteriors of this volume has stacked interaction of semi-open areas. The personality of the interiors have an individuality to it that speaks of opulence and luxuriously spacious. The design ideation opted for interiors serve the acute surfaces of the house well, resulting in a refined setting. Measuring about 5000 square feet, it was designed for a renowned person of Dahod. The more interesting it sounds, the more complex it gets and the more it challenges to make it functional. The shape of the plot itself was a challenging part but peculiar angles doused in rich and sophisticated materials define this residence. Next comes the requirements of the client which were way simpler then the plot construction. The brief was to get access to light and ventilation as it was clocked between buildings and to amalgamate vastu.

Being triangular in shape the space had three negative corners. We provided services in those corners thus making internal spaces more linear and functional. The placement of all the spaces imbibes vastu with all the material and colors used according to the resident thus making it more peaceful to live in.
The whole building was elevated leaving the ground hollow for parking and including servant quarters. The entry to the main building was double heighted to experience the grandeur of the bungalow after being elevated.
First floor is a light set back to access natural light.to add more brightness and livingness to the space. The orientation of the kitchen, dining and living are kept open to feel fudge and full of light.
The space follows monochromatic simplicity with the splash of wood according to clients’ demand. Guest room goes with hues of aqua filling in more livingness and to break the monochromatic look. The furniture was taken into pure wood.
Masterbed-1 was designed for an elderly couple to add on to their sense of comfort the whole room was taken of wooden base with a hint of grey’s in.
Masterbed-2&3 are for the son and daughter who happened to be of our generation demanding for a modern aesthetics with a hint of muted luxury rooms consisted of study at a negative corner with stretched ceiling to give openness and making space functional.
As per vastu and clients requirements wood was the primary material to keep in our pelette.to balance the modern aesthetics metal was added to their rooms with pastel shades.
Upper floor includes leisure spaces like a bar and home theater. Their floor is kept a light darker to follow a party like atmosphere providing warm lights and use of wood to add on darkness. The curation of our material palette included solid wood, stone and metals.
The spaces had keen interplay of functionality with double height grandeur entry and minimalism is a key to sumptuousness. The exterior of the house was cladded with stones with harmonious intervals to avoid the fall due to weathering effects.
