While the original home’s back portion and ornate back rooms on first floor are preserved to meet heritage overlay, the new addition introduces a more minimal approach. A lavish drawing room that connects with a dining cum living space at Saluja’s Residence is the epicenter of the house at ground floor, this space is the central body of the house that connects 3 bedrooms– A master bedroom for the owner, A Kids room and another bedroom for their Mother with a kitchen and the drawing room.
The drawing room here has it’s floor done with lavish slabs of moon emperador ( Italian Stone ) and the walls are painted off white and lightest of the greys.
Setting the tone here is the wooden back panel which serves the backdrop for the couple of lounge chairs in smoked green colour fabric, The sofa on the other hand is done in light beige. Centre table is a three piece table with the primary one being circular one with wood and veneer as its materials, out of the other two pieces one is finished in fabric and other is done in wood and glass.
The drawing room also has the staircase that leads to the upper floor on one side and the TV unit on the other side, the back panel of TV unit is done in back painted glass.
The living room is the epicenter of this house which connects the drawing room, kitchen and the three bedrooms on the ground floor, it also has another formal sitting space for atleast 6 people and a 6 seater dining table.
It also has a back panel designed exclusively which is done in mdf and mirror pieces are inlayed in the design, PU is used for the finishing material of this panel.
We faced a little problem with the painter here as Khandwa is quite remote location and it is hard to find a good painter who can do PU, The dining table is done in sagwan wood and is done by a local vendor and Italian stone is used for the top.
Kitchen here is behind the wall that has mirror inlayed back panel, kitchen is done with quartz stone and black tiles are used for daddo, unfortunately we don’t have pictures of kitchen.
Master bedroom has a king sized bed, two chairs for a formal sit out near the window which faces the garden, a small wardrobe apart from the dressing area, and a TV Unit.
Mothers room is done in the favorite colors of the occupant, teal blue and peach – the generous mother of our client was very firm about her choices regarding the color scheme of her room.
The second floor has a more formal living room that connects the old structure on the back side and on the front side there is another bedroom and a huge balcony. Located in Khandwa, MP Saluja’s is one of our favourite projects one of the reasons being it came out better than we thought and another being our client, In our client here we got a gem of a person Mr. Pavneet Saluja Ji who gave his all to bring out the best out of everyone.

It moves quieter than that, more composed, more intentional, like a pause button carved into the chaos of the city. Spread across 4,125 sq. […]
