RSPL is a leading importer of polymer, silicon, rubber and other products and deal with 24 different countries across the globe. They wanted an office that has an international language and it should be iconic in design. A workspace imbued with curved surfaces, pop of colors and values of the company. The office is run by three generations together as director of the organization & the design language should be loved by all of them. Another very important aspect is their humanity- hospitality & polite communication skill which office should reflect so design should not be dominating and intimidating.

The site sits in a very urban commercial setting. It is located in an office complex in Netaji Subhash Place, New Delhi. The character of the place is created by monotonous glass facades. Our design philosophy for the project is unique in terms of its design language, identity, and materiality. The form is inspired by fluidity of products that our client deals in and it is based on how fluidity creates unique experience in vision. The spaces are designed to create intricate and interesting human experience that enriches the senses.
Editor’s note : “The eclectic design adopts a utopian approach, breaking the mundane ritual of general office layout. The curved glass walls bring fluidity to the functionally designed space while forging visual connections. White and charcoal-hued interiors play around the pops of blue thus creating a space that is not only visually appealing but is also conducive to productivity, collaboration, and the well-being of the employees.”~ Venessa Thomas (Co-Editor)
To each user, it should serve as a place of comfort and warmth. It should create unique memories and an experience for each user and gives them the possibility of having office spaces and working environments that are not mundane. It gives them a possibility of having human centric design & spaces that are bound to uplift and elevate their spirits as human being.
The main features of design language are curved white walls, curved glass partition, parallel grooves in flooring & ceiling to create rhythm. Colors were added in furniture and some parts of ceiling to create vibrancy and joyfulness to working environment.
Lighting has been a key element in designing of space as rhythm is created by flexible led light profiles and continuous grooves which catches your eye and moves you from one space to another. Entire palette for public & semi-public space is kept minimal with white walls and ceiling & grey floor which adds to smooth fluidic form. Black is used for punctuation and edges of curves.
Entire space was divided into three areas depending on hierarchy of interaction & relationship of users with various kind of visitors.
With the reception area, a conference room & a recreation area is attached for formal and informal discussions. It gives a flexibility to create partnerships and have business conversation in various ways.
The main public area transitions into a semi-public space- a gallery space for their products which is visible from reception and is accompanied with a small meeting pod area for dedicated discussion.
Lunch room is also planned between gallery and pod for staff to interact with visitors at informal junctures and over lunch. It is also part of extended hospitality of client’s personal belief of greeting & taking care while meeting people who travel large distance for meeting.
Workstation area is designed in consecutive layers depending on hierarchy of communication with MD or other managers.
Each workstation is designed with a partition so while each employee has their own personal space to work but is also visually connected to other seniors to create an ease in communication creating efficient workspace.
This semi-public area transitions into a private office area which workstation area for staff, manager cabins and MD cabins with a private lounge.
It was designed in a way that all MD & manager cabins are located on outer periphery creating an island workstation area for staff. This gives a very accessible, functional and efficient space where communication at all levels is easy and quick, thus reducing effort and bringing functionality.
Each director has got his own cabin designed and styled in a way that reflects his personality and office ethics & values. These creates an inherent sense of ownership & relationship with space and creates an environment where you love to work.
