Kumar Residence is a thoughtfully designed villa where architecture and interiors come together to enhance the client’s quality of living. “The design evolves through climate-responsive planning, incorporates cross-ventilation in every space, and uses a west facing orientation that opens onto a roadside balcony to capture serene sunset views.” Vastu principles guide the layout of all the spaces majoring the kitchen and master bedrooms, ensuring harmony and balance.

Double-height spaces foster strong vertical interaction, while the skylight, dual-entrance balcony, and a grand entrance foyer emerge as key architectural highlights. The overall design language blends European elegance with a traditional touch, reflecting the client’s taste and lifestyle. “This theme seamlessly extends into the interiors, with designers customizing each space to suit the users’ preferences.”
“A subtle, classy, and soothing colour palette, complemented by unique design features and intricate natural wood detailing, adds warmth and depth throughout the home.”
The living room is conceived as the heart of the home, where traditional values seamlessly blend with European sophistication through a richly layered spatial narrative.
Intricately carved natural wood elements—most prominently in the puja unit and the main entrance door—root the space in cultural depth, while refined classical mouldings introduce balance, elegance, and timeless proportion.
Soft daylight filters in through the skylight of this west facing home, creating ever-changing patterns of light and shadow that enliven the interiors throughout the day. A sculptural staircase with floating wooden treads adds a sense of fluid movement, enhancing the spatial flow and continuity.
The open kitchen integrates effortlessly with the living and dining areas, enhancing the sense of openness and grandeur. Unified by consistent detailing, materials, and mouldings, the space achieves a harmonious balance—resulting in a living environment that feels deeply rooted in tradition yet distinctly refined in expression.
“The design of the home’s private spaces carefully responds to the varied rhythms of the family’s everyday life.” While each bedroom carries a distinct identity shaped by its user, a consistent design language ensures visual harmony throughout the home.
The first master bedroom draws from a refined European aesthetic, where elegant mouldings, soft grey hues, and a restrained palette come together to create an atmosphere of timelessness.
The second master bedroom, defined by its sloping roof and generous ceiling height, unfolds as a more dramatic yet intimate space, enriched with intricate wooden detailing that adds character.
The son’s bedroom is lively and expressive. It is animated by bold colours and a dynamic layout that flows seamlessly into the adjoining terrace. Thus, fostering a strong connection with the outdoors.
In contrast, the guest bedroom is designed to be understated and serene. It offers a calm, welcoming retreat through its subtle tones and balanced, refined ambience.
This west facing house is an expression of the client’s lifestyle and we are glad to design it.
