This Ultra Modern Home Stands Out For Its Clean Lines And Thoughtful Planning | Espela Interiors

    Style & Concept

We call the aesthetic “Contemporary Eclectic with a Soulful Edge.” It’s an ultra modern home where clean lines and thoughtful spatial planning meet materials that age and colour that comforts. No cold minimalism. Rather, surfaces that breathe, furniture that feels grounded, and details that quietly reveal themselves over time.

What inspired House of Heart was a sense of fatigue with interiors that feel sterile despite being beautiful. Homes built like showrooms: immaculate but impersonal. This project aimed to push back, to celebrate imperfection, to reward touch, to allow color and craft to speak.

Rust-orange scalloped headboards, sage green cabinets, hand-woven textiles, and natural stone surfaces are the vocabulary here. They weren’t chosen for uniformity but for character, so that each room feels distinct yet connected.

    Layout & Atmosphere

Spatially, the designers planned this ultra modern house to balance openness with intimacy. The living and dining area is central, becoming the glue that connects private rooms and smaller functional zones. Light flows freely through generous windows and through designed transitions; you can move from one space to another without obstruction or heaviness.

That said, they didn’t sacrifice intimacy. There are cozy reading nooks, tucked-away alcoves, and corners framed just right so one can grab a book or escape into quiet. These moments of privacy give contrast, making open areas feel even more alive.

    Challenges & Process

The starting point was a fairly blank slate: clean, neutral, but missing character. Working within budget meant we couldn’t just rip everything out. Instead, we layered. The designers gave some walls textured treatments. Others we replaced with stone or warm wood. Nothing was arbitrary; every change had purpose.

Working with craftspeople was essential. Carved woodwork, custom upholstery, scalloped carpentry, and woven panels each needed several iterations. Sometimes what looked good on paper didn’t feel right in daylight or under soft evening lighting. Those tweaks took time, but they matter.

This ultra modern home is as much a collaboration between designer, maker, and material as it is the client. The result feels more like a home than a display.

    Materials & Details

Materials are central, not just for how they look but how they feel and age. Wood with warmth, used in flooring, cabinetry, and accent walls, with grain visible and finish soft. Natural stone for surfaces that add weight and permanence. Textured paints and plasters so walls aren’t flat but have life. Handwoven textiles, rugs, throws, things that invite touch and soften edges. Metal accents (brushed or matte) sparingly to highlight without dominating.

Color was always emotional, not decorative. Bedrooms get rust shades grounded and warm. Kitchens and cabinetry have sage-green tones that settle the space. Shared areas remain in creamy neutrals and soft tones so the eye can rest. Small accents punctuate the calm, giving identity without shouting.

    Favorite Element

If I had to choose one detail I love most, it’d be the rust scalloped headboards against the limewash walls. It’s unexpected, sculptural, and a moment of softness in otherwise structured spaces. They set the mood: warm, unpretentious, human.

    What Makes This Project Different

What makes House of Heart stand out isn’t a new gadget or flashy material it’s the intention. Most homes today want to look perfect; this one wants to feel perfect in the way comfort and memory make you feel perfect.

Here, elegance comes from honesty: surfaces that accept wear and aging, layouts that embrace family movement, materials selected for character, not just color. It’s not about impressing someone who walks in, it’s about comforting everyone who lives here.

    Conclusion

In the end, House of Heart is more than a house. It’s a home built with imperfection in mind, with care, texture, and story embedded in every detail. It’s about being modern without forgetting warmth, about spaces that don’t just look right but feel right.

This is Espela Interiors’ belief made manifest: design isn’t about what shows at first glance. What lasts is how a space welcomes you in, holds you, gives you comfort, and changes with you. House of Heart does exactly that.
