This House fulfils the residents’ sweet intentions to give their kid a loving warm environment while adjusting to her growing demands. This two-bedroom apartment is tucked into the corners of peaceful, inviting and spacious property required careful planning and iterations. The range of materials is kept simple and constrained so that the space may be appreciated. The task was straightforward: create a comfortable, minimalist home. The integrity of every material used in this home is its best feature. Grey, white, teak brown, green, and an accent of pastel pink make up the colour palette. Each colour works seamlessly to enhance the others.

The combination of wood and marble not only gave the apartment a natural and elegant look but also provided a perfect balance between warmth and sophistication. The result was a comfortable and inviting space that exuded an air of luxury. This project’s primary goals were a spacious appearance, simple maintenance for modern life in a fixed space, and resource optimization. The only tough part about the project was to design and get the project executed within a time frame of 2.5 months end to end, though having said that, cooperative clients help build good projects quickly.
In the living room, the clean lines & neutrality of the tactile wall panelling along with the warm Oak veneer create an idyllic backdrop. The furniture & furnishings are seamlessly blended, dotted with subtle prints, and textures that exude an inherent sense of warmth. A powerful, recognizable entrance door, simple seating that is played up, and a dramatic wall in the background are where the design tale starts.
The house in general has very soft and muted hues but a pop of colour is given every then and now to make the space fun and lively. The furniture has played an important part in the entire project as it is made with paying attention to every detail. Overlaps of different textures and materials like wood, marble, cane and different laminates add to the grammar of the space. The subtle curves in a few furniture pieces add rhythm to the heavy geometry of straight lines. This space is breezier and brighter with a white modern yet utilitarian centre table.
The wooden backdrop along with the white marble which is an art piece ties the whole room together despite its traditional and modern differences. The intricately-designed furniture is customized by a local artist from Bihar including the temple and the entrance door that adds to the traditional touch to the house.
Each bedroom has a unique design aesthetic that is based on the needs and tastes of the individual family members. A grey suede bed set against muted tones with a distinct geometry of the bed for furnishings are key elements of the master bedroom.
In the master bedroom, pure white and calming blue interact in a captivating way. Wooden furniture that displays its natural grains is adorned by sunlight that enters the room through the windows.
The master bedroom had been kept very minimal and monochromatic. While employing greys to balance out the dynamism of the area, hanging lights in the corner of the ceiling create the ideal relaxing space for the couple.
The children’s bedroom called for an airy, open space that required little upkeep, pastel colours, and an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere without sacrificing the room’s practicality. The pink headboard bed blends seamlessly with the mint green bed-back panelling in the kids’ bedroom and exudes a peaceful and sophisticated presence.
The room is equipped with a storage cabinet and a study table, which combine to become an ideal study corner. Though this was a very small space, the designers tried to add elements in each space and each space has different elements and looks while using the same materials and finishes. Rugs and different textures of wood and textile were used to create visual and textural curiosity.
Minimalism was a priority when choosing the furnishings of this space. Both the geometry for the niches in the master bedroom and the cut-off niche in the long closet in the daughter’s bedroom provides visual break points and provide space for many of the heirlooms that the clients owned. Throughout the design process, creating and playing with forms ended up being our favourite step.
It is overall a warm and inviting space that is both graceful and comfortable with a calming and sophisticated atmosphere. A combination of ambient, task, and accent lighting creates a layered lighting design throughout the spaces in the house. Pendant lights are put on to enhance the warmth and depth of the interiors.
