This Three Bedroom House Turns an Ordinary Space into a Tranquil Retreat | Ekatra Studio
The design of this three bedroom house is rooted in three fundamental principles: space planning, earthy tones, and natural light. These elements are harmonized to create a cohesive, calming environment. What truly elevates this apartment, however, is how each room asserts its own unique identity while still contributing to the overall unity of the space.
Take the living room, for instance. Here, simplicity is key, with meticulously selected furniture that marries style with comfort. The interplay of metal and wood in the furnishings adds warmth and strength, while the textured wall behind the sofa introduces a subtle contrast, enhancing the room’s visual depth. The designers have embraced an open-plan layout, reducing the need for walls and allowing the living and dining areas to merge seamlessly. This approach not only optimizes space but also cultivates an inviting, airy atmosphere that’s perfect for both entertaining and daily living.
At the heart of this home lies the dining area, anchored by a grand table that serves as the central hub for family gatherings. It’s here that the joys of good food and conversation come alive, all set against a striking floral wallpaper that adds a touch of drama and elegance.
The kitchen is another masterclass in design efficiency. Though compact, it’s thoughtfully designed for a family that loves to cook, with every detail carefully planned for maximum functionality. Fluted shutters in green, paired with a terrazzo white backsplash and warm wooden accents, infuse the space with freshness. The continuity between the living room, dining area, and kitchen reinforces a sense of openness, making even a modest space feel generously proportioned. The wooden dining table with a white stone top, complemented by light beige chairs, ties the dining space together in a sophisticated, nature-inspired palette.
Each bedroom within this apartment is a reflection of its inhabitant’s personality. The son’s room, for instance, is a modern, chic haven. Soft blues and grays create a calming palette to the bedrooms in the apartment. Furthermore, an abstract Scandinavian art on wall and an organic-shaped mirror inject a sense of playful sophistication. A duck egg blue headboard acts as a focal point, adding a subtle yet impactful pop of color.
In contrast, the grandparents’ bedroom is a study in understated elegance. An earthy color palette establishes a soothing environment to the bedroom. Furthermore, a hidden sliding door and bespoke paneled wall blend functionality with a touch of intrigue. Additionally, providing discreet access without disrupting the room’s serene aesthetic.
In every corner of this apartment, there’s a lesson in how to create a home that’s both beautiful and deeply personal. It’s about embracing simplicity, choosing materials and colors that resonate with you, and allowing natural light to work its magic
