Upon entering the home of Ar. Sagar Rathod and Ar. Mansi Rathod, something immediately stands out. It registers first as a feeling, a shift in one’s perception of calmness, “SUKOON,”  which was the central idea around which the whole design revolves.

    Open Plan Concept

An open planning concept has been adopted wherein the kitchen opens up as a space to entertain the occupants, where one could serve without being cut off from conversation when entertaining guests- which manifests as a creative dining area extending into the living room.

An eye-catching mural adorns the ceiling of the guest room, which again opens up into the living room and merges into a single space.

The living room is accentuated with small elements like the fabric hanging light, hand painted art behind the temple etc.

    Comforting Hues

May it be the calming, neutral material palette of the house, the hues on the walls, or the soothing textiles. Every nook and cranny, including the common basin, is derived in an artistic manner, making it the perfect abode for the architects.

The keen selection of materials—birch wood, along with green kota and concrete flooring—gives a contemporary rustic vibe to the residence.

The master room is kept simple, wherein a painting in fabric highlights the bed back. The toilet cubicle protrudes in glass bricks, rendering a unique identity to the room.

The flooring pattern wraps onto the wall in the parents’ room, defining the bed back feature.

Piccolo tiles adorn the bathroom, evoking tranquillity with an almost spa-like ambiance.

    Elegant Design Choices

The home is a comfortable and unique spot for the family to sink into the softness of the custom-made beige sofa and the art piece that complements the wall behind it. Even when one enters, the vestibule feels like artwork in itself with the wall mural and hand-painted console. The elegantly designed centre table in the living room synchronises with the flooring pattern, intertwining the whole space together.
