The vision for Mr. Utkarsh Khemani’s residence, located in Safdarjung Enclave, New Delhi, was to craft a luxurious, sophisticated residence reflecting Mr. Khemani’s status and refined taste. The residence was designed featuring warm, rich color palettes, premium materials, and elegant finishes and textures in interior design. The feature of the residence is its spatial planning, which was carefully thought out to enhance both luxury and functionality.
Each room seamlessly blends classic sophistication with modern aesthetics, from the drawing room, where natural light dances across luxurious furnishings, to the sleek dining area, which showcases a stunning Black Agate marble table and an elegant bar cabinet. The master and parents’ bedrooms offer a cozy yet refined retreat, while the guest bedroom exudes warmth through carefully chosen textures and lighting. The specially designed praying area in the north-facing balcony completes the home, enhancing both spiritual energy and tranquility. The project overcomes challenges with creativity and craftsmanship, resulting in a harmonious space that reflects both luxury and comfort.
This Residence’s Rich Texture In Interior Design Exudes Classic Sophistication | A Square Design Studio
Upon entering the home, a central lobby immediately greets visitors, serving as both a visual and functional divider. Adorned with exquisite glass artwork, the lobby sets the tone for the entire home—luxurious yet inviting. Strategically placed, it divides the house into two sections, each with its own character. The northern part of the house includes the drawing room, dining area, and master bedroom, all of which enjoy an abundance of natural light from the front façade, creating a bright, airy atmosphere. The southern portion of the home, which includes the kitchen, parent’s bedroom, and guest bedroom, offers a more intimate, cozy ambiance, ideal for privacy and comfort.
The drawing room serves as the heart of the home, offering a refined and serene space where family members and guests can relax and entertain. The design features strategically placed windows along the main wall, allowing natural light to filter in and enhance the ambiance. The floral laminated pattern paneling meticulously details the room, while sleek stainless steel profiles and French moldings introduce a sense of elegance and sophistication.
The centerpiece of the room is a luxurious blue sofa, flanked by two high-end chairs, creating an intimate and cozy seating arrangement. A stainless steel-framed center table introduces a modern touch, while the intricate CNC-cut designs on the TV panel, finished in smooth PU, add a unique, contemporary flair. This fusion of classic design with modern aesthetics results in a space that is both visually striking and comfortable.
Adjacent to the drawing room, the dining area offers a perfect balance of sophistication and functionality. At its core is a stunning Black Agate marble dining table, complemented by dark brown chairs that bring warmth to the space.
The open bar cabinet, designed with dark brown veneer and finished in PU gloss, serves as a striking focal point. Profile lights illuminate each bottle section within the bar, highlighting them and adding a sense of luxury and refinement. Elegant French moldings adorn the room’s walls, enhancing its traditional elegance, while the overall layout fosters an inviting space for family gatherings and fine dining experiences.
The master bedroom exudes bold luxury, with a striking maroon-red cushioned bed that stands out as the room’s centerpiece. Framed by dark grey bed back panelling and rich dark brown louvers, the space feels both sophisticated and cozy. To the right of the bed, a golden 3D mirror design in triangular patterns adds depth and an element of glamour.
The TV panel features dark brown louvers that thoughtfully harmonize with the bed back design. Meanwhile, the console showcases a mix of white and grey laminates, complete with an integrated dressing mirror for functionality. The careful selection of materials and texture in interior design creates a balanced, modern aesthetic. Moreover, it serves as a peaceful retreat for relaxation.
The parent’s bedroom is designed to be a serene and inviting retreat, blending comfort with sophistication. A plush, quilted headboard in soft grey provides a calming focal point. While the surrounding wooden panelling and metallic accents introduce a sense of warmth and luxury.
The minimalist design is enhanced by the sleek side table and neutral tones, creating a peaceful, timeless space. Dual-layer curtains, in beige and dark grey, filter in natural light, casting a warm glow throughout the room. Additionally, it enhances the room’s tranquil ambiance.
The guest bedroom offers a welcoming and sophisticated environment, with a rich rust-coloured upholstered bed that features a mix of vertical and horizontal panelling. The neutral and modern furniture bring a sense of balance to the room. Meanwhile, soft ambient lighting highlights the ceiling details, creating a cozy atmosphere. The monochromatic artwork adds an elegant touch, completing the room’s inviting design.
One of the most unique aspects of this home is the praying area, which is designed in the north-facing balcony in alignment with Vastu principles. This space captures the early morning sunlight, creating an auspicious and serene environment for worship. Surrounded by lush green trees, the balcony offers fresh air and a tranquil view, perfect for spiritual devotion and meditation.
Throughout the design and execution of the project, overcoming challenges and achieving a high level of craftsmanship was key. Initial service designs from the builder did not align with the client’s specific needs, requiring creative solutions. For example, the placement of the praying area, initially located within the dining area, was adjusted to provide a more private and dedicated space. Despite a tight timeline, the team executed the project with precision. Thus, ensuring the design vision came to life with the highest quality craftsmanship of texture in interior design.
This luxurious residence is a testament to the successful fusion of technical expertise, creativity, and design vision. Moreover, the project stands as a reflection of sophisticated living combining style, functionality, and tranquility into a space that is both opulent and deeply personal.
