  • This Office With A Bold Geometric Design Opens To Unfold Its Inner Mystery | Asundaria Design Lab

The external wall of the office is kept quiet and textured in order to open and unfold the inner geometric design. As we enter the space, the observer is introduced with a first glance of layers of space through an organic wide scale void that frames the inner spaces of the office, creating further curiosity and harmonizing visual and tactile journey. Such a void is adorned with a Brass bindu which has an engraved saying in Sanskrit as “सर्वं खल्विदं ब्रह्म” meaning “ all this is brahman”…a soft ethos of the office meaning every element, every process, curve, particle, matter, material, the making, the maker, the object, subject, thinker, observer, thought, forms, details and the vibe and all such subtle experiences in the journey or the process; all that is brahman…..

Furthermore the admin or intro space is designed as a cacoon, embraced by the attached seating, a temple softly emerging from the wall, rotating table being an apparatus to write and providing flexibility to sit and use the space as and when needed.

    Doors

One of the things that space celebrates is the geometric design of the doors. Doors in the space have personalities acting more like artistic portals. Two of which are placed in the intro space of the office itself; one leading to the main workspsace and the other directly  to the mini-conference space.

    Main Workspace

The door leading to the main workspace is “porous” which is called as the identifier or the “WHO” door, an artistic expression that asks “why do we always identify people by face  and why not by feet as well, that which is one the most grounding element of the human body, sometimes decored  with jewellery having sound, while sometimes the scars  marking the journey, while they express the mark of self expression having immense meaning for the individual”. The door hence, seems to be porous at the facial and at the level of the feet. While on the other side, the door quietly hides the space through its sculptural presence , exploring nuanceful forms through the depth of the door especially when the light falls

    Conference Room

Adjoining to the workspace there is a mini conference room enclosed by a folding door that which upon folding and unfolding creates seamless transition from private to collaborative mode. The door has porosities that further add  to the playful narrative of the space both inside and outside.

    Central Wall

The central wall is a multifunctional Totem wall that enjoys both art and function and a geometric design. It is composed of wooden elements , one of which is a dimmer and the other is sculptural quirky switch. The wall is further embracing a three tier storage adorned with handmade door knobs, acting as a central dock unit for the rest of space. The two openable circular voids create a mild yet playful porosity between the pantry and the workspace.Hence the wall acts as a “Functional Art”.

At one end the office , there is a raised floor haven that is like creative thinking informal zone. It consists of foldable and adjustable writing surfaces. Animod bench (bakdo) is also a part of the raised floor space as apparatus to the space.

    Voids

Organic and humanly curvaeceous full scale transparent voids introduce the entry of the CEO cacoon. The space further invites with a 1.5 m cantilevered  dualside wooden lighting. It protrudes from  a 3d archiglyph mural wall as a part and  parcel of the art itself. On the opposite wall  there is a silent wall light. It gracefully emerging from the wall and merging to it , creating a cusp of light from the centre…
