In this modern beach house project we selected the beach theme as the space was quite in sync with it and also as it was just a few meters away from the beach. A large collection of huge self painted canvas suiting each zone of where they were placed and a few diy’s made this project a first for many of us in this team.
This Modern Beach House is in Sync With The Sea | Pratspaces. In – Interior Design Studio
Mainly the living room and the dining room was planned to have a very light, breezy and cool feel just like the beach with a modern touch of abstract paintings and artworks.
Lighter shades of laminates were choosen in the living and dinning space to make it look brighter and white sheer curtains made the space look breezy.
Tv side of the wall was staged with real pebbles and pebble shade lamps with a glow to further encourage the beach theme. Minimal furniture but statement pieces were selected for the living area for making enough open space in the room,
A geometric rug was choosen to include pattern in the room though maintaining the light feel to the space with a light shade tone.
The dinning room was again light on shades with a leather finish on the dinning chairs which matched the fabric handmade art work on wall besides.
The large pendant lamps were custom made to feel like a cluster of them, which again we finished in white plaster.
A small bar zone was also created with space for storage of bottles and hanging glasses. Asian paints wallpaper were used in 3 of the areas in the house.. Which made a great appeal.
The Kitchen was planned in a completely boxed-up fashion and a dark tone. Thus, we used the same shade of wooden handles which added to the functionality and aesthetics of the space. Moreover, the dado tiles were changed to green fluted tile to stand out in between the cabinets.
Furthermore, each bedroom had a different feel to it. The master bedroom is bold with a painting of a woman and darker tones of laminates.
Whereas the middle bedroom was treated In the same beach theme with lighter tones and feel. Moreover, in this room, we made a DIY on wall with foam sheets and got It painted with an arch on the opposite wall secluding the study area.
In the last bedroom where we used quite a lot of patterns on the wall and in the wardrobe. It came out pretty well, which was further highlighted by the patterned dark-tone hand-painted canvas. Additionally, an interesting set of mirrors was placed right opposite the wardrobe. I love the use of mirrors in a space for the light and reflection it thaws.
I as an interior designer for this project was especially challenged due to the diy’s and the paintings we had to execute. Since it was the first time I was doing up something like making an ice rock wall structure or diy wall panelling for the bedroom, the invisible door and the floor sculpture in the living room.
All in all it was a 2 and a half month long journey, where we tried to put things together of what was visualized. It was exciting, challenging and overwhelming sometimes but fun and enjoyable as i love designing homes.
