“The Arch Story” is a 4BHK home for a family of 5, which embodies the concept of minimalism meets comfort. The apartment’s serene location in the lush Surajkund suburbs of Faridabad is amplified by its full-height sliding door in each room that bathes the space in natural light, fostering a tranquil environment.
Editor’s Note: The Arch Story personifies cosy minimalism, amalgamating bright colours, neutral materials, and metal accents in precise proportions. As the name suggests, the arches in the home act as a narrative backdrop, where one can pass through them or use them as a nook. It could be that curved moulding unassumingly resting behind the orange couch or that hovering arc lamp. Although the arches are everywhere, these subtle incorporations make them seem less apparent. – Gopika Pramod
This Faridabad apartment tells a cohesively colorful story | Lane 7
In a mere span of three and a half months, this once-empty, straight-lined apartment was transformed into a vibrant home that tells a unique story of its inhabitants. As one moves from one space to another, a perfect balance of modern, comfortable, and elegant is created while using a neutral color palette throughout the home. This provides a versatile backdrop that allows for individual character to shine through. Each room has its own pop of color, carefully selected to reflect the client’s personal taste and preferences.
Upon entering this resplendent apartment, one is immediately struck by the curved wall opening, which gives a glimpse into the spacious living room. With copious amounts of natural light streaming in through the full-height windows, the first thing one sees in the living room is the captivating orange sofa that serves as the centerpiece.
Accentuating the setting with the back wall adorned with curved moldings, painted in a calming beige hue to match the wall and ceiling, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication to the room’s aesthetic. The inviting and lively atmosphere of the room is further amplified by the TV wall with its ceiling-high blue display unit and a complementing back-lit grey TV panel.
Stepping into the dining room, one’s eye is drawn to the striking wall to wall multipurpose unit. With light wood and black arched collapsible shutter, the cabinet reveals a crockery unit on one side and a mandir on the other, seamlessly tied together by a TV unit in the center, adding both functionality and character to the design. Complementing the room is a custom-made dining table with white onyx and pink velvet dining chairs, creating a space that effortlessly blends style and comfort.
The master bedroom displays a soft and cozy ambiance, designed to be a haven of relaxation after a long day. Muted pastel colors set the story perfectly, enveloping the room in a soothing palette that stimulates a sense of calmness.
The attention to the detail extends from a beautifully crafted wall-to-wall pastel pink headboard, adding a touch of elegance to the space, to glamour’s statement curved sofa in a gorgeous pastel green.
These along with relatively tamed beige accent chair create a sense of spaciousness. With its blend of sophistication and comfort, the master bedroom creates an ideal environment for recharging and rejuvenation.
The daughter’s bedroom unfolds with warmth, having the personal touch of the client’s daughter herself, her unwavering choice of a grey velvet upholstered bed, elegantly offset by a sleek blue study table.
The predominantly muted color palette, with strategic hints of deep hues of purple, adds depth and richness while creating a welcoming space.
Continuing the journey to the son’s bedroom, the brief was simply to keep it clean and minimal. The study table is the first thing noticeable in the room, with the design elements in straight lines that come together to orchestrate that stillness into the room.
Enhancing its visual appeal and contributing to the overall sophistication of the room is an L-shaped headboard of the corner bed in contrasting blue leatherette. The color palette, carefully selected to add a touch of elegance, envelops the room in a subdued yet refined aura.
In a nutshell, “The Arch Story” is a story about interior design transforming spaces into havens of style and comfort. From the warm and inviting living room to the modern and sleek dining room and the serene bedrooms designed for relaxation.
Every corner of this apartment is meticulously curated to create elements that blend with each other to tell the story of a harmonious and captivating experience.
