In a city where every square foot comes at a premium, The Design Chapel has transformed a modest 2BHK house into a canvas of quiet sophistication and spatial ingenuity. The project exemplifies how minimal living, when executed with precision, can make a home feel not just larger—but infinitely more liveable.
This 2BHK House Is A Modest Design Executed With Precisio | The Design Chapel
Minimal living in this 2bhk house isn’t about austerity—it’s about prioritising what matters. With integrated storage, clean lines, and a soothing palette, the apartment encourages its occupants to de-clutter their lives as much as their space. Finished in a muted peach beige and punctuated by an intricate brass lattice, the main door strikes a balance between elegance and restraint. This play of texture and metallic detail creates a prelude to the design language carried through the rest of the apartment: refined, warm, and contemporary.
Stepping inside, one is immediately met with a deliberately achieved sense of openness. The living area is anchored by a sculpted sectional sofa in creamy upholstery, its soft curves directing a sense of flow. The walls are adorned with flute panelling alternating with strips of mirrors allowing the rush of daylight through the windows to be reflected across the space. The dining and living spaces dissolve within each other and hence the flute and mirror panelling runs behind the dining table tying the spaces together.
“Both the centre and dining tables feature sculptural gold legs and marble tops that reflect the neutral palette. The dining table’s cracked marble gleams under a glass-globe chandelier, blending function with art.” By keeping surfaces sleek and circulation fluid, The Design Chapel maximises the availability of space in this 2bhk house. A custom cabinetry wall in muted beige, accented with brass knobs and glass-fronted shelving, acts as both storage and display. The interplay of wood niches and transparent surfaces prevents bulkiness, instead offering depth and rhythm.
Throughout the 2bhk house, the palette remains hushed—beige, cream, and warm taupe form the canvas. Yet within this restraint lies a rich orchestration of texture: fluted panels, brushed brass, veined marble, and soft fabrics. The result is not stark minimalism, but a layered, liveable minimalism where each finish contributes to comfort and sophistication.
The bedroom continues the apartment’s narrative of calm restraint, but with an added layer of intimacy. The highlight of the room is the wall behind the bed, defined by a series of soft arches crafted through subtle panelling. This architectural gesture, simple yet commanding, immediately lends verticality to the space. “Their subtle detailing creates a calm backdrop, letting fabrics, textures, and wood accents take center stage.”
On either side, a floating nightstand and a compact wooden study desk embody functionality within a tight footprint. Brass-accented sconces and sculptural wall lights lend a soft golden glow, reinforcing the room’s tranquil mood. The palette remains soft—beige, taupe, and warm wood tones—enhanced by tactile layers in pillows, throws, and quilted bedding.
Across the room, a custom-built entertainment and storage wall demonstrates intelligent space planning. A recessed panel in natural wood holds the television, with shelves. The bottom cabinets framed in arched motifs echo the bed wall’s design. Overhead storage maximizes vertical space, ensuring the room remains uncluttered. Brass handles and detailing offer just the right amount of shimmer against the otherwise muted palette.
This room has been crafted as a cocoon that prioritizes rest, focus, and simplicity. By integrating storage invisibly, using tonal continuity to expand space, and balancing restraint with warmth, the room becomes more than a sleeping area—it becomes a personal sanctuary.
At the heart of the room is the bed wall, framed with classic panelling and brought to life by a floral wallpaper inset. The choice of muted golden blooms against a soft cream base infuses the room with quiet vibrancy, adding personality without overwhelming the space.
The amber-hued pendant light suspended beside the bed offers a warm glow, enhancing the room’s cozy, cocoon-like quality. Across the room, a custom dresser runs the length of the wall, topped with a warm wood counter. Paired with elegant drawers in muted beige and brass accents, it doubles as both storage and display. This room design demonstrates how restraint, balance, and thoughtful detailing can make a modest footprint feel expansive, warm, and undeniably elegant.
In a city defined by its constraints, this home feels like an antidote: a sanctuary of calm, a reflection of intentional living, and a celebration of how less can indeed be more and how compact does not mean compromised.
