The sustainable interiors help in reducing the temperature of the house. Kota flooring along with lime plaster walls and ceilings adds to the timeless beauty of this Indian house. Beautiful and ever-changing sciography is cast on the lime plastered walls and ceiling throughout the day due to the window openings in both east and west directions. The natural filtered light with cross ventilation in the living room aided in creating a serene environment. The combination of solid wood along with cane creates a sense of nostalgia. The 2 BHK apartment interior design incorporates antique décor elements that add personality to the space and further accentuate the beauty of the house. A restored, hand-painted antique window acts as a focal point from the foyer, adding richness and cultural depth to the space.
Editor’s Note: Nestled within the heart of a city, this 2 BHK apartment interior design unfolds like a quiet retreat. Sunlight filters through, casting ever-changing patterns on textured walls, while earthy materials and handcrafted details create a space that feels lived-in and loved. It’s a home that breathes, evolving with time, memories, and the rhythm of everyday life. ~ Isha Bora

The bold entrance is a precursor to the home’s thoughtful design. A cherry red door in ombre effect is the main entrance to the house. The lion door knocker and brass studs adorn the door, symbolizing strength and protection. As you open the main door, a beautiful inlay of Kota and Jaisalmer stone welcomes you inside. Custom-made teak wood and cane photo frames displaying family pictures flank the lobby on one side, creating a narrative of the occupants, while seamlessly integrated storage cabinets and a flushed kitchen door line the other. This welcoming vignette encapsulates the home’s essence, where cultural significance meets aesthetic refinement.
The leather-finish Kota flooring with Jaisalmer inlay at the periphery extends seamlessly from the foyer into the living and dining areas. Jaisalmer stone finishes enhance all window frames and seating. The boucle fabric on the sofa adds a contrast to the trunk repurposed to use as the centre table of the living area.
The teak wood kangaroo chair further elevates the space. Soft, muted tones dominate the palette, creating a calming atmosphere conducive to relaxation. Storage solutions are seamlessly integrated into the design. Thus, ensuring the space remains uncluttered and functional.
Corner dining table seating creates a functional addition to the space and provides a larger floor in the living and dining area. The 6-ft-tall Dracaena Draco plant placed in the corner injects the space with warmth and vitality. The living and dining node connects with the private quarters of the family.
In continuation to the main door, the internal door frames are PU painted in cherry red. Thus, carrying the same narrative inside. The muted space constantly tries to balance the modern and traditional objects placed within it.
This room balances practicality and sophistication. The room extends to accommodate a king-size bed for the couple and their toddler. Additionally, it is a space envisioned as a sanctuary. Moreover, a personal retreat where comfort meets timeless design.
The bed is factory-made in ply and laminate with a cane headboard. The side tables are made in a Garnet green silken finish granite. The jungle-themed cotton headboard fabric adds a sense of drama and brings in nature to the space.
The open-weave cane wardrobe is custom-designed, which fits perfectly in the bedroom extension. The cantilever TV cabinet is a sleek console with a study table towards the end. Additionally, the drama of materials and textures evokes tranquillity while reflecting a sophisticated aesthetic.
This room maintains the neutral tones seen throughout the home with a pop of indigo blue seen in the monkey bar, headboard rail, and the custom-made wardrobe handles. The platform bed along the window provides more floor space for the growling toddler to play and carry out various activities, and the chevron wooden flooring acts as an extension of the bed.
Thus, ensuring a seamless aesthetic and creating a welcoming and versatile space. The study table is adaptable to the growing height of the toddler. With multiple grooves lined up, the top is adjustable as per requirement. The wall hung head-board adds a dynamic sense to the space. The wardrobe seamlessly merges with the wall reflecting the home’s over-all philosophy of thoughtful minimalism.
