The Plush House | Jovan Designs

It always feels wonderful to have clients who trust you with their homes not once but twice. This plush house located in South Mumbai is home to a power couple. With clean and contemporary lines it reflects the client’s lifestyle choices.

    Visit: Jovan Designs

The brief given to us was to keep it modern but casual, cozy, and comfortable. The couple loves entertaining and wanted an uncluttered space for it. Hence, we opened up the kitchen, but to maintain visual segregation we placed the dining table in such a way that it demarcates the space ably.

With its muted colors and mirrors on the dado, this contemporary kitchen reflects the vibrancy of the living space. The lights below the counter storage make the storage looks lighter visually. Above the dining, the wooden feature in the ceiling takes care of the essential air conditioning unit without being an eyesore.

A well-stocked bar took up the center space without being intrusive. The bar counter wraps around the dining table, keeping in with the vibe of the party. As the party fades just pull the shutters over, and the bar blends into the surrounding without a hitch. The soft fabric paneled doors of the bar add the drama and softness to the living space.

Seating in the entertaining/ living space is divided into smaller clusters to facilitate multiple conversations within the same space without stepping on each other. Wooden paneled wall adds another dimension to this free-spirited space making it sober and formal too.

A simple master bedroom with clean lines and a small corner to snug and spend some me-time with coffee on one of the days. The bed is propped higher than the usual, based on client’s ergonomic considerations. The geometric design of the wardrobe in the master bedroom is a perfect backdrop to relax the souls of this globetrotter couple. Walk-in-wardrobe is a delight with mirrors on both sides and perfect light to get ready quickly and comfortably.

Warm wood finishes and a fabric headboard bring in a sense of intimacy and coziness while creating an inviting guest room. The bed itself is also a dramatic piece and molded with equal love as much as the crafted bedroom door handles.

This layered bedroom features a rustic wooden paneled wardrobe, a rug underfoot, traditional Indian throw blankets for the bed, colorful pillow shams, and striking contemporary art that tied the many different textures and patterns together.

This home is a space that provides warmth, relaxation, coziness, and homey-ness in any season.
