In the heart of a meticulously planned neighbourhood, the design of this 3500 sqft bungalow has undergone a remarkable transformation. Facing a quiet internal road, this renovation project has redefined the home from an inward-looking space to one that embraces the outdoors. The result is a residence that welcomes an abundance of natural light and ventilation, with terraces and balconies that offer picturesque views of the surroundings while providing intimate family spaces.
The Design of this Bungalow Goes From Inward to one that Embraces Outdoors | scarta_spaces
The vision of this bungalow design was to create spaces that were light-filled, airy, and modern while still holding onto traditional elements that add character and warmth.
The renovation aimed to open up the bungalow to its beautiful surroundings, making the most of natural light and fresh air.
Terraces and balconies were redefined to create an indoor-outdoor living experience. The use of familiar, subtle colours and materials was key to enhancing the beauty of the natural light that floods the spaces.
The transformation begins at the living areas, where the once inward-looking rooms are now double the space with large windows along the street.
The living room, with its modern furniture and subtle traditional accents, becomes a bright and welcoming space.
The neutral colour palette, highlighted by natural materials like wood, creates a soothing backdrop. Thus, enhancing the influx of natural light.
The kitchen has also been transformed into a modern, efficient space that remains warm and inviting. Light colours and reflective surfaces amplify the sense of space and brightness.
We carefully curated a colour palette and selected textures to add depth and visual interest to the space. Ample storage and functional layouts ensure that the kitchen is both beautiful and practical.
Each bedroom has been designed to maximize light and ventilation while ensuring privacy.
Large windows and private balconies allow residents to enjoy the view of the neighbourhood while providing cozy retreats for family time.
We complement modern furnishings with traditional elements like handcrafted bed linens and decorative items. Thus, adding a touch of cultural richness to the serene spaces.
Furthermore, terraces and balconies play a crucial role in the renovation, extending the living spaces outdoors. These areas are designed to offer views of the neighbourhood while providing private havens for family gatherings and relaxation.
The landscaping, featuring a blend of local plants, enhances the connection between the home and its surroundings. Natural materials and traditional handcrafted furniture, add to the outdoor charm.
This 3500 sq ft bungalow renovation project exemplifies that by opening up the space to the outdoors, maximising natural light and ventilation, and incorporating modern aesthetics with traditional touches, the renovation has created a residence that is both connected to its environment and deeply personal. The careful balance of openness and privacy, along with the use of familiar and subtle materials, has resulted in a home that is inviting, functional, and filled with character.
