Pratinav Chadha Architects is an architecture and interior design firm situated in the city of Delhi. Founded by Pratinav Chadha, the firm believes in developing a creative sanctuary for its clients with functional designs.
In this interview with Pratinav Chadha he shares about his architecture and design journey.
Fascination towards details in buildings with retrospect to design principles has always been there in my mind. So, this path was laid even before the inception of my professional stage. Whenever I design something it acts as wind beneath my wings and I feel even more alive.
Always wanted to innovate in design and what better way than starting my own studio and cater thinking architecture worldwide.
For office projects, my vision is to develop a creative sanctuary where each of the team members is comfortable in the working space. For residential projects, my vision is to emphasise on functionality keeping in mind the utilities of family residing.
For some it has been geometric intricacies, for some vivid colours and for some it has been taken from sculptural carvings at our Indian temples.
Now we’re heavily using Parametric and computational modes in design methodologies while also relying on sketches.
Interaction with nature and natural surroundings is important in my daily life and I make sure each of my work also prioritises in connecting indoors with outdoors.
Jubinav Chadha Fashion Design Studio has made a very lasting impact on me as its design concept was heavily inspired by sculptural carvings at our temples in India. I consider myself a spiritual being and it further connected me with the deep sense of mythology of our land.
Since the beginning of our firm there has always been a strong inclination towards use of Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Computational and Parametric design methodologies in our projects.
For a particular residence project, the client wanted only sketches and was emphasising on Block type architecture. So, we developed those sketches keeping his design inclination in mind and furthered the project after sketches were approved and then only developed the 3D views.
Our projects always have a wall or a corner which would definitely create a sense of curiosity, be it the 3D CNC carved walls or the gently crafted as well as acoustic ceilings. We keep in mind that some form of curiosity has to be there for the person visiting.
Sports activities, long drives, cafe hopping and travelling world destinations.
It has made me a sincere though chivalrous being.
With growth in the learning curve my commitment is to keep evolving and provide even better spaces for the society around.
Learning everyday is the best way to keep perfecting this endless craft of designing spaces for world inhabitants.
