“Embarking on the project of “Swasthi”, meaning “All Peace” in Sanskrit, we set out to create a modern and luxurious living space for a young entrepreneur couple and their multigenerational family. Located in a bustling and upscale satellite area of Ahmedabad, the 5th floor apartment spans 2600 square feet and was designed to embody the family’s minimalist yet sophisticated personalities.

The addition of a copper finish CNC jali and carefully placed ceiling lights add a touch of luxury, while the calligraphy name-plate in copper finish provides a visual balance. A seating area and an artificial Ellica plant invite one to pause and connect with nature before entering the main living space.
Stepping into the entrance of the abode, one is immediately greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The entrance door, with its subtle yet rich veneer and natural polish, is elevated by the vertical grooves and the grand arch formed by wooden strips.
As the centerpiece of the home, the living area was designed with both formality and intimacy in mind. The once separate bedroom was incorporated into the expansive hall, which was divided into formal and informal sitting areas with a glass sliding door for added versatility.
The monochromatic palette of light gray Italian flooring and teak veneer paneling is accented by pastel blue in the sofa set and curtains. The curved edge Italian T.V unit and brass finish chandelier and pedestal lamp bring a touch of sophistication, while a corner plant adds life to the space.
The design challenge of the low ceiling height was met by keeping the false ceiling as low as possible, allowing for a feeling of grandeur and spaciousness upon entering. Each element, from the entrance door to the living area, was carefully chosen to embody the essence of “Swasthi” – a contemporary and luxurious house for a modern Indian family to find peace in the hustle and bustle of life.”
As you step into the abode, the dining area greets you with a warm embrace on the right of the hall. Tethering to the west lies the balcony, while the kitchen lies to the east. A jali, fashioned from a blend of metal and solid wood with a touch of brown glass, separates the dining and living area, offering a picturesque view for the dining space.
With its flutings and beguiling chandelier, the dining area basks in natural light from the nearby balcony. The wooden finished ceiling of the dining space imparts a feeling of grandeur as soon as one takes a seat at the dining table.
The master bedroom is situated in the south-west corner of the house and boasts a unique identity. Behind the bed lies Italian stone carvings, exuding a different and beautiful allure, while the use of olive color adds to its appeal.
Next to the master bedroom lies the parents’ room, which has been designed with a modern yet traditional touch. The bed’s paneling is crafted from resin leather with a copper finish strip detailing. The room features a sea blue color scheme with an ivory base, while the leather bed is handmade on site.
The daughter’s room, facing the north-west side of the house, is kept simple and minimalist with a balanced use of vintage wine and cream color shades.
A reading table and wardrobe, finished in pu color, add to the space, along with a white washed ceiling design and a corner statement hanging light. The bed and side tables are designed with a loose-console concept for easy movement
The guest bedroom, located in the south-east corner of the house, has been designed keeping guests in mind.
The use of green, gray, and blue colors give the room a lived-in feel, while the bed’s paneling and wardrobe doors are made from mdf sheet with vertical grooves for added attraction.
Lastly, the balcony is a true gem of the house, a favorite among both the client and ourselves. From the start, we envisioned a natural environment, which is achieved through the use of natural slate stone cladding on the walls and wooden tiles on the floor. The hand-made wooden swing is a testament to the masterful craftsmanship that went into designing this special space.
