A symphony of styles, the seasoning of immaculate details rooted in the Indian subcontinent, and the perfect fusion of hues — Salt House is a flavourful tryst with Indian modern home design that straddles the worlds of modern and Indian sensibilities. Hosting two generations, the space brews a heady concoction of colours, patterns, art, and restraint as its champion condiments.
Editor’s Note: “With vaulted ceilings and terracotta patterns, Salt House reinterprets Indian modernism that is both grounded and glowing. Colors dance with sophistication and patterns weave stories, blending contemporary finesse with ancestral echoes. Moreover, this home is a soulful symphony, layered and loved across generations.” ~ Anusha Sridhar

An array of barrel vaults enwrap the ceiling-scape over the communal areas, introducing depth and dimension instantly.
The terracotta jaali looms into view as one enters, enveloping a sanctum-esque pooja nook in its embrace.
The matrix of culled-out shapes becomes a leitmotif, recurring in the floor inlay as an embedded carpet under the dining area.
Light-washed and seemingly fragmented into two by a swing crafted by Length Breadth Height, the living area is a kaleidoscope of colour that emerges as pattern-bearing fabrics, veneers, and curated art.
A sense of whimsy makes a debut in the dining space. Sinuous silhouettes cross paths with the trio of Harshita Jhamtani ‘upside-down’ and ‘sideways’ lamps in a canary hue, creating a vignette that makes one stop and stare!
The bedrooms keep the flirtation with colour thriving. The syzygy between mustard and blue enlivens the children’s space. The colours travel into the ensuite bath, creating an uninterrupted visual thread.
The parent’s bedroom comprises umber accents, pale yellow, and a pristine ivory shell.
Wood details travel surfaces (the hollowed headboard, the turned legs of the study desk, and the panelling) with graceful agility, threading the space together.
Indulging in decadent walnut and aqua, the master hosts a richly-embossed headboard posing as the pièce de résistance.
The primary bath is an oasis of calm, boasting sensual curves, creating an immersive milieu bathed in travertine.
