Nomura Research Institute Offices Design – Gurgaon | Ultraconfidentiel Design
Ultraconfidentiel Design designed the offices of consulting company Nomura Research Institute, located in Gurgaon, India.
Nomura is a Japanese consulting firm, which is a service and support provider to other Japanese companies from the outset wishing to implement their businesses in India.
When Nomura invited us and then introduced themselves to us, we have been amazed by their understanding of design, creativity and their interest in employee’s well-being. Starting from this very concept point, we developed the whole space as a friendly and fun office where employees would be happy to wake-up and go to work every morning.
Space planning was a critical factor in creating both a public, but an equally private environment that expressed not only comfort, but more importantly making the users feel comfortable to work in such a pleasant environment. The arc-glazing is used in such a way as to optimise the light penetration within the office space, hence we chose to implement the workstations alongside this interesting architectural asset to highlight it further more.
Without falling into the ‘’Japanese Zen cliché’’, we moderately used a mix of concrete and light wooden materials, but we equally added little pops of red to the ceiling highlighting the fire fighting devices while still focusing on the overall office harmony.
We had another design challenge which was to create a central collaborative area; a space that would be properly integrated and not break-up vision across the office. To solve this challenge, the design team created a central hub as an open relaxation cum seating area. We installed whiteboards on pillars along with a number of office swingers allowing for multiple teams to work together on projects or equally just to take a break in a more relaxed and quiet area.
