In a home where natural light plays an important role, morning light enters softly and sets the pace for the day as the spaces shift through the hours and begin to feel warmer and more lived in. By evening, the glow turns gentle and comforting, and the home feels calm and inviting. The morning light moves naturally through the house and shapes everyday moments, which is why the designers named it Maison Lumière, meaning House of Light.
Set within Prestige Misty Waters, Bangalore, this 4BHK residence exudes European elegance infused with subtle Parisian sensibilities. What began as a European-inspired retreat for the clients gradually transformed into a home that balances classical charm with contemporary refinement. Powder blue and off-white hues, with gentle hints of sakura inspired by the clients’ time in South Korea. It provides a soothing anchor throughout the home.
Graceful arches frame the walkways. Fluted details in the cornices, all in muted tones, add architectural interest. They are reminiscent of a vintage European residence reimagined for modern living. The designers carefully layered every element, from furniture and fabrics to finishes and lighting. This creates a space that feels calm, intentional, and deeply lived in. Natural morning light acts as the guiding force of the design. It highlights textures, surfaces, and colours by day. It envelops the interiors in a warm, intimate glow as evening sets in.
Morning Light Shapes The Way Spaces Shift In This House Of Light | Tesor Designs
The entrance makes an immediate impression with a deep navy-blue door that contrasts beautifully against the soft, light interiors within. The designers finished the walls in Salt White paint. This forms a crisp backdrop for a sculptural console from Studio Objectry. Striped accent stools lend a French bistro charm. They thoughtfully layered the morning light to enhance the composition. It casts a soft glow that highlights forms, textures, and materials. Thus, creating a welcoming and elegant first impression.
The living room opens into a space designed for both grand entertaining and quiet family moments. Rather than a TV room, they designed a space truly earmarked for living, with conversations and connections being the mainstay. A faux fireplace with a detailed mantle becomes an ever-evolving canvas for expressive storytelling. It is complemented by a curved white sofa that reads as crisp and fresh against powder blue walls. The textured rug ties the palette together, while brass lighting and European-inspired grooved ceilings with arches add architectural finesse. A soft-hued abstract painting introduces subtle color and references the client’s travel memories, lending the room a personal narrative. Every element, from cushions to curated fabrics, allows natural morning light to animate overlay and shapes. It creates a space that is simultaneously elegant and intimate.
There’s a tactile warmth to the dining area, where a solid wooden table stands out against a neutral backdrop. There is nary a doubt on what the purpose of this space is, it’s a space for sitting down and enjoying hearty meals and happy stories.
A custom-made crockery unit conceals a pooja space detailed with a hand-painted mural. On the other side, a large statement mirror reflects light, amplifying the sense of openness. The balcony, visible from the dining area, extends the design outdoors with black-and-white checkered tiles and refined metal furniture, framing the view and creating a seamless transition between interior and exterior. Together, the elements create a space that is perfect for family meals or casual entertaining, where comfort and style coexist effortlessly.
The open kitchen continues the home’s European narrative with a refreshing, light-filled palette. Shaker-style cabinetry in soft pale blue pairs effortlessly with crisp white quartz countertops and backsplash, creating a seamless and airy composition. The muted wood-tone flooring brings warmth and a hint of farmhouse charm, grounding the space in understated sophistication. Open shelving displays curated coffee mugs and art pieces, infusing the kitchen with the client’s daily rituals and personality. A bold red espresso machine adds an unexpected burst of energy, breaking the calm palette with a confident accent. Every element — from the layout and lighting to the storage details — was thoughtfully designed for harmony, ease, and a lived-in elegance that reflects both functionality and finesse.
The master bedroom was designed to be a warm haven for the couple. Upon entering, one is greeted by a dressing area that acts as a landing space, establishing a sense of transition before reaching the private sanctuary. A fluted glass partition separates the dressing from the sleeping area, allowing light to flow while maintaining privacy and structure. The walls are finished in Salt White, while the bed back features Asian Paints’ Parlata texture, introducing depth and a soft tactile richness that complements the serene palette.
The dressing table with lights around the mirror introduces soft glamour, while cane sheen on wardrobes and furniture brings in a tactile, natural element. Cane is used throughout the space in both subtle and bold ways, creating a sense of organic luxury. The flooring in muted tones enhances warmth underfoot, tying the material palette together. The client’s preference for uncluttered, clean spaces is evident here, with the bedroom holding only the most essential pieces—each thoughtfully chosen to maintain calm, comfort, and timeless sophistication.
The children’s bedroom continues the powder blue and off-white palette, creating visual continuity with the rest of the home. But the rest of the details take inspiration from the young son’s interests – dinosaurs, space and swimming! Plenty of storage tucked into the wardrobe makes space for all the essentials of a growing kid, the study table flows seamlessly into the bedside unit, keeping the center of the room open and uncluttered. Curved edges not only are a design detail, but primarily serve a practical purpose in a young, playful child’s room. The space balances creativity and practicality, encouraging exploration and study while remaining easy to maintain.
The Parents’ Bedroom
The parents’ bedroom embraces warm earthy tones. A botanical wallpaper panel above the bed complements textured beige and brown walls, establishing a calming visual rhythm. A discreet support handle beside the bed ensures safety without disrupting aesthetics. Cane and wood finishes in the storage units add texture and warmth, while layered lighting fosters a relaxed atmosphere. Brass accents provide elegance, creating a space that is both practical and refined.
Maison Lumière is a home where light, texture, and color come together to tell a story. Sunlight interacts with every element, from walls and fabrics to furniture, mirrors, and subtle pops of color, enhancing the sense of space and revealing different moods throughout the day. Every corner has a purpose and a story, yet nothing feels forced. From the soft tint in the living room to the warmth of wood in the dining area and the playful accents in the kitchen and children’s room, each detail was curated with intention. Brass accents, grooved ceilings, and occasional bursts of red create rhythm and personality, while furniture, fabrics, and finishes were selected to respond to natural light, giving the home a dynamic, lived-in elegance. Maison Lumière evolves as the day unfolds, reflecting the clients’ personality and joy, and stands as a narrative of warmth, refinement, and European-inspired sophistication.
