Modern Organic Interiors of Hotel Room Mock-up Is Inspired by Nature and Serenity | Studio Meraki

We were allowed to design a hotel room mock-up installation in collaboration with the IIID (Indian Institute of Interior Designers), Delhi Chapter for the India International Hospitality (IHE) Expo at the Expomart, Greater Noida. This annually conducted exhibition sees a tremendous footfall from all over the world, including hospitality industry giants as well as companies looking for sourcing in the hospitality arena. The space available to us was 5 m x 4 m to design and execute a hotel room mock-up in 3 weeks with modern organic interiors.

Editor’s Note: A quiet retreat where warmth meets stillness, this space feels like a deep exhale. Soft, flowing forms and sunlit hues create an atmosphere of ease, where every detail invites rest. Tranquil yet full of life, it lingers in the mind like the last glow of a desert sunset. ~ Isha Bora

Nature transpires and inspires everything in this vibrant and extraordinary setting, rejuvenating the heart and nourishing the soul of anyone who experiences it. A harmonious blend of minimalism and warmth, inspired by the serenity of placid desert landscapes and soft organic shapes, the design language is centered around fluid modernism, where clean, curved outlines are paired with warm, earthy colors to evoke comfort and tranquility.

The superbly gorgeous sunset-inspired wallpaper sets the theme & tone for this hotel room setup for relaxation as well as exuding radiant cheerful energies. The design philosophy “Desert Tranquility” draws inspiration from the serene beauty of a desert backdrop. Meanwhile, the down-to-earth palette of terracotta, beige, and sandy tones mirrors the soothing hues of a sunset.

Addition of Elements

The wavy, flowing silhouettes in the bed, sofa, and rugs evoke the quietness of shifting sands. Thus, creating an ensemble that feels both modern and alluring. Textural elements like plush upholstery and tasseled pillows enhance the sense of comfort, while understated furniture ensures functionality without clutter. Soft lighting and natural materials complete the look. Moreover, it makes this space a peaceful, luxurious retreat that encourages mental repose by virtue of its connection to nature.

Minimalism in Design

The most attractive feature, i.e., the bed, provides an approachable look, wherein its oversized, cushioned form makes it an ideal sanctuary for rest. Moreover, it is ideal for both lounging and sleeping. The use of burnt orange fabric and natural wood in the flooring connects us to nature. Meanwhile, accessories such as the flowing mirror frame and the metallic flower-shaped floor lamp also mimic the same aesthetic. The rhythmic built-in side table and gentle, unbroken lines emphasize a seamless flow. Thus, contributing to the philosophy of minimalism while offering functionality.
