Luxurious Penthouse Interior design is a showcase of the bond between the traditional and the modern minimalistic lifestyle

Luxurious Penthouse Interior design is a showcase of the bond between the traditional and the modern minimalistic lifestyle | Little Box Studio From Architects: A safe haven amidst the sprawling edges of the beautiful city of Ahmedabad, edging off the S.G. Highway, is the beautiful Adani Shantigram, which houses Clients ( Mr Uttam Sheth ) 4500 sq.ft. penthouse, a lavish and high-end 5 B.H.K. The design is a showcase of the bond between the traditional roots and the modern minimalistic lifestyle of the Clients. The entry to the Penthouse, via its surreal main door, is an experience in itself. The visual and physical massiveness of the design adds to the grandeur of the place. Repetitive pyramidal massing and subsequent grooving, inspired from traditional temple doors, enhance the sanctity of the space. The doorway leads to an entrance foyer – a double heightened space which adorns an enchanting central Christian base chandelier hung from a recessed wooden false ceiling. A play of tiered wooden strips, with thin traditional carvings wrapped around the foyer, adorns the visual journey one experiences as they look at it through the glass windows of the staircase atrium. The entire design theme of the house – They are one of the few elements in the house that strike the perfect chord between the traditional and the modern. Entrance Area In combination with the sleek glass wood and M.S. railing, the exposed concrete staircase glides above the Water Body, which, with a peripheral seat around it creates tranquillity in the space. The minimalism of these elements makes this space feel light, void like, despite its function of vertical transition. The leading wall from the entrance into the primary spaces has minimal artworks that contain wooden printing blocks as their central elements against plain wooden backgrounds, hung against a humble white. The Powder Room, which houses the heavily crafted wooden Mirror Cabinets in another of the house’s elements that serve as a deep traditional accent. Wooden Staircase Design Opening into the common areas, this light colours of Satvario flooring which have used in the house throughout, make the mind perceive the space to be much bigger than what it actually is. The cosy greys of the tapestry and upholstery in combination with its volume enhance the sense of comfort one feels as one experiences the space. The contrast combination of the white and brown colours across the floor using wood and the whites tactfully avoid any reflective glare. The conscious decision of not having a partitioning element between the Living and Dining enable a delightful use of the natural light. The greys and blues of the seating’s, tinged with the subtle bling of bronze, beautifully complement the woods of the table. Tastefully placed Wooden and Brass artefacts tweak the spaces with the spirit of life beauty. A single tall plant splashes the green of life in every space. The dining, in particular, sits next to another graphic wall that has brass nut cutters as the artworks’ central pieces, richly contrasting against the blue backgrounds. False ceilings serve as the space defining and differentiating elements. The suspension of the false ceiling in case of the Living is on the traditional wooden stumps, glances of which can be stolen from the corners. Dining Area Design The kitchen, beautifully crafted in the same colour and material palette as the rest of the house, boldly uses a black pearl marble top as its platform. The special veneer and S.S. crafted handles, compliment the black glass cabinets.  Equipped with a huge utility, the Kitchen has been precisely designed in alignment with the Client’s requirements. Wooden Kitchen Wooden Kitchen The Parents Bedroom  has been beautifully adorned with white, brown and blue color theme paintings made by the clients themselves. The main attraction of the room is its brilliantly designed door handle that blends so well into the door and opens with just with slight pressure. Parents Bedroom The staircase takes one to the first-floor lounge, which has a combination of wooden flooring and satvario tiles. The centre table is inspired by the entrance doors of Ahmedabad’s pols and helps to transition into the blue that gets added to the colour palette of the first floor. A beautiful carpet brings all these elements together into a wholesome space. The dark blue-gray cushioned sofas, with heavy comforting tapestry, stand in contrast against the darker woods. The highlight of this room is the barcode pattern stone clad wall. Towards one end of the wall is a wooden showcase, decorated with brass and ceramic artefacts. With a low light theme, the whole place’s ambience and beauty get magnified ten folds in the darker hours of the day and night. The divided false ceiling, of wood and white, is in contrast placement with that of the flooring. Penthouse Interior Design The corridor space between the office bedrooms works as a semi-translucent buffer. Its a beautiful modern combination of wooden blocks and glass in the form of a chequered wooden framed position. The accent of the wall lies in the traditional green-yellow painting that has been placed slightly off-centre, adding to the uniqueness of the whole wall The library room consists of a book rack of wood and metal. It is a linear, minimalistic composition. Library Unit Design The Master Bedroom on the first floor is where the overall theme of the house can all be seen in one place. The feature wall, made of artificial exposed concrete, set again in a bar-code theme with brass inlays is contrasted with louvred wooden Wardrobe. The king of the room is the Bed,  heavily cushioned, imparting a super comfortable feeling to it. The wall that is seen as the first thing from the entrance uses a traditional door frame and pane as an instalment. The washroom for this room has the shower wall of Morocco tiles, with brass metal work. The flooring has a boundary of pebbles, that add to the experience. A double sink with gold c.p. fittings adds to the richness of the place. Guest Bedroom on the first floor has been designed in a European Theme, as opposed to the rest of the house. With an ethical tone to space, the furniture has been crafted in white wood. Similarly, the washroom also has turquoise hexagonal pattern tiles, beautifully uplifting the whole experience. All the washrooms essentially have a rustic feel to them. Morocco tiles, hand made by the designers themselves have been used in combination with the wooden louvered cabinets and glass partitions.  The platforms, mostly in black tones, work as the focal points of the space. The wardrobes in adjoining Dress areas have been specially designed according to the needs of each room. Rustic Toilet Design What has come together, stands as a reflection of the Clients’ Lifestyle beliefs and the Designers’ philosophies. Also, it stands as a contribution to the developer’s vision of a perfectly encapsulated philosophy of ‘The Good Life’.
