Nestled in the industrial hub of the city, a visionary young textile designer sought to elevate his workspace by integrating his headquarters with a retail experience studio. The interior design of office space aimed to seamlessly blend operational efficiency with an immersive showcase of his craft within a single, thoughtfully designed space.
Taking the designer’s aspirations to heart, we reimagined the existing monospace office into a meticulously organized, multifunctional hub. The new layout artfully established a hierarchy of functions while maintaining fluidity.
Interior Design Of Office Space Blends Operations With An Immersive Showcase of Craft | FLOW STUDIO
The original premises included a director’s office adjoining a vast storage hall and an administrative area. Adjacent to this, the client owned a preexisting quarter that he envisioned merging with the primary space. Moreover, this expansion allowed us to craft an expansive office-studio hybrid, perfectly tailored to display custom fabric collections. Additionally, it engages client in an inviting and extended selection process.
We divided the area into a dual-format layout by merging the two quarters. The front segment houses the operational zone, including the administrative offices and reception, while the rear transforms into a vibrant studio designed to spotlight the designer’s fabric creations.
The journey begins in the reception area, a space that encapsulates industrial minimalism. Dominated by a white palette, the room features a bespoke table illuminated by a custom-designed pendant light. Moreover, this is paired with a bold yellow seating arrangement atop a striking red carpet. Furthermore, a feature wall proudly showcases the “Spotlight Selections” of the month. Thus, adding a dynamic touch to the entry experience.
The director’s rooms exude a sense of sophisticated opulence. A bespoke back wall design mimics the intricate weave of linen fabric, while custom-built storage seamlessly integrates into the space. Additionally, the flooring, designed as a monolithic extension, houses hidden drawer systems, adding both function and flair.
The furniture is a testament to craftsmanship, with marble-topped tables inspired by interlocking battens and pendant lighting tailored to each room—one featuring deconstructivist black anodized fixtures, and the other adorned with cascading circular pendants.
The central passage acts as a connective artery, linking the operational front with the creative studio at the rear. Additionally, a striking white mural panel on one side juxtaposes a frosted glazed partition on the other. Thereby, creating a balanced interplay of textures and light.
The studio, the crown jewel of the design, is a celebration of textiles and creativity. The space is purposefully “product-centric,” offering an immersive experience with thousands of intricately detailed fabric samples. A grey limo-coated backdrop complements the shimmering white China mosaic pathway, drawing attention to the vibrant displays. Tailored brushed brass pendant lights illuminate the studio, accentuating its aesthetic appeal.
The studio is thoughtfully segmented into functional zones:
The flooring features a sophisticated grey marble tile with two-tone tile accents and a bright white mosaic pathway. A custom 3D wall mural and a monochrome console unit enhance the space’s artistic allure. The fabric samples are concealed behind frosted glazed metal panels on either side, ensuring exclusivity while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic.
This contemporary fabric studio is not merely a workplace but a dynamic confluence of form and function. Thus, embodying the designer’s vision while providing a captivating experience for clients.
