‘Evara – the chosen one’ is conceived as a timeless residence. Here, light, movement, and materiality converge to create a home for multiple generations. Oriented to receive gentle north and east daylight, the design prioritises adaptability, comfort, and a calm spatial rhythm. Modern Indian aesthetics expresses itself through pure functional forms. A tactile palette of solid wood, brass, and natural veneer responds to the climatic context and the needs of a family spanning different ages. At its heart, Evara is a space for gathering — a home that grows, flows, and glows with its inhabitants.
The spatial planning responds to the home’s orientation. Material tones and surface treatments are chosen to amplify natural light and soften the visual atmosphere.
Indian Aesthetics And Timeless Design Come Together In This Modern Home | Studio Lune
The entrance sets the tone with a sculptural presence. The solid wood jali door contrasts with the multi-layered, fluid backdrop. It begins as a functional shoe rack and gracefully culminates in the main entrance door.
A continuous ceiling flows from the entrance into the adjacent pooja space. This curved enclosure, wrapped in glass and solid wood, receives soft morning light from the east while horizontal wooden bands introduce rhythm and grounding.
What initially reads as a spatial gesture in the living room is, in fact, a direct response to the client’s desire for dual yet interconnected settings during social gatherings. The design conceives the ceiling as a floating plane, using it as a subtle partition that defines zones without compromising openness.
In parallel, the design re-envisions the bedroom as a multifunctional space that serves as a lounge by day and a private retreat by night. The introduction of a secondary daylight axis not only enriches luminosity but also enhances circulation, resulting in a home that is both fluid and adaptable.
The custom furniture pieces, such as the circular dining table and floating breakfast unit, balance utility with ease of maintenance and human circulation.
Private spaces carry the same design ethos — the master bedroom layers soothing materials against a light-colored wavy wall, with carved-in handles for safety and visual detail.
Bespoke solid wood and brass elements appear throughout, chosen not for sheen but for their ability to age gracefully, echoing the enduring values of the home.
Every finish and junction were detailed with the safety and comfort of both children and elderly residents in mind. The result is a residence rooted in modern Indian aesthetics, defined by its adaptability, daylight, and an enduring sense of warmth — a home where design and life flow seamlessly.
