@jd.studio_ thoughtfully divides this 1100 sq. ft. residence in Ahmedabad into distinct social and private zones. The planning creates a natural transition between spaces for gathering and areas designed for rest. This thoughtful layout brings balance, functionality, and a sense of ease to everyday living. Shared spaces encourage interaction and everyday connection, while the private zones offer a sense of calm and retreat. Rather than relying on a singular design language, the apartment uses soft organic geometry and tactile textures to create a fluid transition between these spaces. The result is a home that feels layered, personal, and deeply connected to the lives unfolding within it.
How This 1100 sq.Ahmedabad Home Balances Social and Private Zones | JD Studio
A key intervention involved reimagining the transition between social & private zones. The foyer, anchored by a custom bench that blends exposed brick with warm wood, acts as an inviting prologue to the home’s material palette.
The living area, defined by a terracotta & beige palette, flows effortlessly into the kitchen & dining space, which have been opened up to foster social connectivity.
The use of that custom, rounded joinery ensures that functional storage is treated as an aesthetic highlight, maintaining a sense of openness & maximizing the perceived footprint of the home.
This rhythmic, sculpted flow extends into the private quarters, where each bedroom is tailored to specific needs: The grandparents suite prioritizes serene simplicity through geometric wall art that brings a tactile, soft rhythm to the space.
The kid’s bedroom introduces a dynamic, playful character through focused color accents & multifunctional cabinetry.
The master bedroom balances quiet luxury with bespoke integrated vanity storage & a subtle wall paneling offering a more sophisticated expression.
Collectively, these spaces prove that precision in form & harmony in material can elevate a standard residence into a curated, unified sanctuary.
