  • House of Flow: 4 Bedroom Home Where Dubai Luxury Meets Ahmedabad Warmth | Trans Design

Some homes aim to impress, while others focus on everyday living. House of Flow is a luxurious four-bedroom residence that the design team created for a Dubai-based family who frequently visits Ahmedabad. Although it functions as their second home, the vision was to create a residence that offers the same level of comfort, convenience, and sophistication they experience in Dubai while feeling warm, personal, and connected to their lifestyle.

    4 Bedroom

The homeowners placed complete trust in our team throughout the project. This gave us the freedom to explore ideas with confidence. They gave us the freedom to explore ideas beyond conventional solutions, allowing us to design spaces that genuinely reflected their aspirations rather than simply following trends.

    4 Bedroom

    Unified Living

Spread across approximately 2,300 sq.ft. with a built-up area of nearly 4,000 sq.ft., the residence originally featured a courtyard-like balcony separating the formal living room from the informal family lounge. Removing this separation created one expansive common living area.

    Inside 4 Bedroom House

This intervention exposed a prominent structural beam. Instead of concealing it through a conventional false ceiling, we developed a sculptural fluid ceiling that wraps around the beam. The same flowing language was extended into the TV feature wall, creating a continuous architectural expression. What began as a practical solution gradually evolved into the defining feature of the residence and inspired the name House of Flow.

    Mountain Memories

The homeowners share a deep love for the Himalayas and visit the mountains every year. Wanting to bring those memories into their home in a subtle way, we collaborated with Garima Saini Art to create a bespoke mural inspired by mountain ranges. The artwork adds a personal layer to the living space while complementing the overall material palette and design language.

The interiors follow a warm contemporary approach with wood, natural stone, textured surfaces, soft neutral tones, and layered lighting. Home automation, smart lighting, and modern conveniences ensure the residence functions effortlessly whenever the family visits Ahmedabad.

The planning of the residence was extensively customized to suit the family’s lifestyle and spiritual values. One of the four bedrooms was converted into a dedicated Mandir, while the attached bathroom was redesigned into a pantry to support religious gatherings and everyday rituals.

For us, House of Flow represents a collaborative design journey built on trust, thoughtful planning, and attention to detail. The result is a home that is contemporary, comfortable, and deeply connected to the people who live in it.

Design Element Closest to Our Heart

The fluid ceiling and TV feature wall are undoubtedly the design elements closest to our heart. Originally developed to resolve a structural challenge, they gradually became the visual identity of the residence.

    Design Concept

    Soft Contemporary Living

The design revolves around creating a contemporary home softened through organic forms, warm materiality, custom artwork, and thoughtful spatial planning.

    Inspiration

The fluid ceiling and TV backdrop emerged as a response to concealing an exposed structural beam, while the homeowners’ annual visits to the Himalayas inspired the bespoke mural artwork.
