  • Canopy house is a secure space for exploration, detailing and connections | Mind Manifestation

    [Sassy_Social_Share]

Surrounded by lush green trees in a plotted development in the city of Pune, Canopy house is planned to allow spatial interaction within and beyond the spaces with the landscape around.

Editor’s note: The Canopy House rises like an organic root earthed from the pleasant landscape of Pune. The stacked volume is a zen-like balance of transparent surfaces, myriad materials, varying heights, and volumes. There is a subconscious connection between the spaces, underlined with a passionate dialogue with details. The constant presence of natural light values the decision of not including a materialistic palette within its curated aura. ~ Nishal Sevak

Canopy house is a secure space for exploration, detailing and connections | Mind Manifestation

A Plush 4 Bedroom house for a family of 5, covering three generations, with all modern amenities. A distinguished identity had to be created within the neighborhood with Clean, clutter free, simplistic mood for the interior spaces.

The central green space, on the north side, is deliberately drawn inside and the spaces of the house are planned around it, generating inside-outside interaction for all major spaces. This shaded central green space, becomes an activity area at the ground level, with upper floors overlooking. The built-in platform in the dining area terminates in this central green space into a planter box with a Topiary Ficus reinforcing a sense of connection between indoors and outdoors.

The play of volumes offers physical as well as visual interaction within the spaces allowing a permanent sense of connection. The double height living spaces on ground and first level, with large openings allows maximum penetration of diffused natural light throughout the day from the North & East Side. All private spaces have a connection with the adjoining green areas, without the privacy being compromised.

A multipurpose space on the second level, opening into the terrace on north and east side, has maximum connection with the nature during the day. And during evening hours the family uses it for leisure activities like partying with friends and having late night movies screening sessions.

The Front Façade is characterized with cantilevered canopies, piercing into the green canopies at various levels. The busy formation of the cantilever slabs resting over natural basalt stone cladded walls creates interesting compositions when the building is viewed from different locations.

The use of locally available natural materials is prioritized along with customized furniture in interiors.
