We designed this space to feel like a serene retreat. Everything here is inspired by the natural, quiet beauty of autumn and a calm, simple approach to living. On the ground floor, green brings a peaceful, natural feel to the interiors. Warm orange creates a cosy atmosphere in the master bedroom, while cheerful ochre adds vibrancy to the kids’ room. We wanted soothing colors and natural textures that make you want to relax and stay a while. You’ll also see soft curves throughout the house. Every corner is meant to feel easy and peaceful, giving you a chance to simply unwind and enjoy the season.
Beyond Beige, This Pune Residence Autumn Finds Calm In Green, Orange And Ochre | Rachana Interiors
The Living Room is designed for comfort and ease. We used soft lighting and a calming jute wallpaper to give the whole area a relaxed, natural feel. There is a minimal TV unit which has a secret drawer which is actually a dummy drawer that perfectly hides the woofer for the sound system. Soft curves define the living space and extend into the kitchen, creating a smooth visual flow and a cohesive feel throughout the home.
In the kitchen, we made the space feel soft and natural by using gentle curves and a calm sage green theme. The upper cabinets have this curvy shape with a warm light which is a focal point of the kitchen, that makes the whole counter area glow. We paired the green with light wood cabinets to keep things feeling earthy and simple.
The kitchen features a practical breakfast table for quick meals, which can extend into a six-seater dining table when hosting guests or enjoying family dinners. Wooden cabinetry conceals the appliances, keeping the kitchen neat and uncluttered.
Continuing with the same autumn feel, we added an orange colour pop through the plush pillows and the armchair. We balanced this warmth with a black and white pattern that runs through the entire space to keep things looking sharp.
You’ll notice this pattern in the textured tweed fabric on the headboard and also on the seating pouf, and we even used the same black and white theme that perfectly matches the washroom tiles to keep the whole design consistent. It’s a really nice way to make the room feel stylish while still being a very comfortable place to relax.
The centerpiece of the room is the bed, which features a customized headboard covered in a customized upholstery. The headboard is framed by a curvy wooden border that follows a soft, natural shape. We finished the wood with PU paint to give it a perfectly smooth surface that’s easy to maintain. Since this room is part of the green theme we used for the ground floor, it all works together to give the space a very natural, peaceful feeling.
The whole room, from the walls to the ceiling, is covered in a soothing beige color, which naturally contrasts with the textures of the jute and wooden laminates, emphasizing simple, natural materials. A bay window offers a lovely, light-filled cozy sitting area, perfect for quiet reflection.
A hidden laundry section, a unit behind the door for used clothes, and a concealed AC unit in the loft, for maintaining a clean aesthetic. A minimal TV unit connects seamlessly to a small Mandir unit, located thoughtfully in the Northeast corner.
The kids’ room is a cheerful, creative space that perfectly uses our ochre theme to keep things feeling bright and warm. We designed a custom bunk bed with a soft, padded backrest and a fun, beaded safety rail that looks like an abacus.
To make every inch count, we built a desk area right into the storage wall with a display board for their favorite things, and a cozy window seat where they can sit and look outside. There is a themed wallpaper that ties all the earthy tones together, making the whole room feel like a playful but peaceful place for them.
A flexible space designed for both work and relaxation. We installed special acoustic panels so you can record or practice music without disturbance. We chose wooden blinds for a clean and natural look. There is a set up of floor sitting, which makes it feel relaxed and open. We also added a large glass door that opens right up to the outside. It fills the whole space with natural light and gives you a nice, peaceful view while you work or relax.
On the terrace, we used black and white on the floor tiles. It has a great outdoor sitting area and a small counter with a sink and cabinets, which is handy for parties. It’s just a great, clean space for relaxing or getting some exercise outside. We balanced those dark colors with warm wood on the ceiling and plenty of green plants to keep everything feeling natural and fresh. The terrace features a utility area highlighted by a large round mirror, keeping the space both functional and stylish.
