A CA firm spreading its wings in Pune, offering its services globally came to us with an office space to design. Going paperless in practice, less storage was of priority for them, intending every corner to be less cluttered, while at the same time not compromising on functionality and aesthetics. An uncluttered and naturally-lit office space with a monochromatic setting.

For her radical redesign of the 1000-square-foot office space, the designer carved six distinct areas including a reception and waiting area, three executive cabins, a utility zone, and a conference room with glass partitions for meetings, as well as a workstation. The minimalist feel was achieved with a white palette and strategically placed accents of monochrome color throughout to make the space appear larger visually. In addition to keeping the client’s primary requirement of space in mind, the goal was also to create an atmosphere that would capture the client’s attention while simultaneously increasing workspace efficiency.
The concept of using glass doors & walls was an exclusive design idea making it more space-efficient while also giving the office an open feeling. The glass office walls allowed the office to establish clear order and structure while promoting transparency. The office staff became aware of others’ actions through the office’s openness, they stay on their best behavior while reducing their isolation. For this reason, the design team incorporated glass walls, believing it promotes the worker’s honesty and integrity.
This office space was well-ventilated with windows on all three sides, keeping it naturally ventilated and we strategically used the daylight in the entire office with the use of large glass partitions, which led us to the decision to take a minimalistic approach, to not overdo the design, coupled with a monotone grey color palette to make the space feel light and airy.
The presence of natural light in an office gave a positive impact on employees, making them feel more relaxed and cheerful, while also giving the illusion of a larger space. White & neutral surfaces helped amplify the effect of natural light. Pale colors & monochrome color palette facilitated the flow of natural light. A minimalist design approach, in terms of furniture and storage, allowed natural light to reach every part of the workspace.
Having glass doors and walls also allow plenty of daylight into the workplace. It grants employees a better sense of orientation throughout the day while also being more beneficial than artificial light.
Geometric designs and a pop of grey laminated wooden flooring colorwork benefited from a neutral palette that created a sense of calm throughout. Soft grey walls and a few indoor plants created a soothing atmosphere in the office which encourages productivity. Soft gray, bright white, and a little green come together in this calming office design that welcomes employees each morning and inspires them to get down to business. The streamlined design of the desks and chairs blends well with the light fixtures and exposed ventilation system.
A subtle color palette, shades of grey with a lot of detailing and highlighting with customized design, defines the spatial attributes across this project. The design ideas focus on flexibility and pragmatism of the space and gravitate towards minimalism with fewer materials and furniture. Since the office was a rented space, glass walls & doors allow quick office reconfiguration in any location as the interior glass walls can be easily movable, giving a flexible modern office design concept.
