“It was a perfect canvas for us. We first fell in love with the location, the view & the abundant natural light. We decided to maintain the warmth & the richness of the space, by maintaining deeper qualities of Victorian characteristics” says Mrugini Pandya.
She continues “We feel blessed to have a client who has spent a good amount of time wandering European streets. So it was very easy for us to take him on board with our serene-Victorian style inspired approach to the design.” By having this clear concept, the entire space has dominant white tones with accents of black, creating a striking contrast. It exudes both modernity and classical charm.
Editor’s note: A crystal clear symphony of white adorned with Roman and Victorian design elements makes this office space by Robust Studio very delightful. The awestruck entrance gives us a hint of the genuity of passion coming ahead. The furniture pieces speak of a connection revived in a contemporary way among a pool of curated pieces to showcase. ~ Nishal Sevak
An office space that exudes Victorian Characteristics | Robust studio
Through the corridor entrance, your will be captivated by the intricately detailed wall moldings & an European-style cornice.
The ornate entrance with earthy black broken tile patterns in flooring transports you back to an era of British sophistication. The company logo, which is displayed on a rich circular backlit teak wood panel, is surrounded by Doric-style pillars and an entablature. The adjoining corridor wall has a small but an inviting pocket of greenery with striking black and white photo frames above.
The reception table is predominantly white, with a touch of veneer finish for a natural look. It’s adorned with a black deco finish on top, where a sleek metal pole light emerges from a cantilevered part of a top. On the back of the reception is a storage unit with cane shutters & a company name in a black metal above it. Besides that there’s a waiting area with two gigantic royal chairs with black leather upholstery taking this space up a notch.
The coffered ceiling in the reception area is a true masterpiece of craftsmanship. It features intricate detailing and a cornice that adds an elegant touch to the space. Within the coffered ceiling, milk finish light spheres are randomly placed, creating a soft and inviting ambiance.
On one side of the cabin, there’s the cozy sitting arrangement with a pure white sofa unit placed on a d’decor rug, which not only complements the furniture but also adds warmth and style to the area.
The stone top center table & a matt black finished coffee table has stolen the spotlight with a single unique wooden leg. The mandir is cleverly integrated into a column, completely hidden by a circular cane cut-outs in the shutter. This design ensures that the space remains secular.
The workstation accommodates two people, with a unique feature of a curved pocket of green that adds a refreshing and vibrant touch to the workspace. A long horizontal desk light, secured with a metal rod, illuminates the workstation.
Essential facilities like panty & bathroom are smartly hidden behind a wall paneling, maintaining the clean and organized look of the office space.
The founder’s cabin boasts a breathtaking, three-sided panoramic view of the city. This provides an incredible backdrop to the entire space, allowing natural light to flood in and offering an inspiring atmosphere.
The designer passed a challenge in creating a director’s desk, a complete white 8ft long L-shaped stone top with an artistic giant wooden leg. This desk is big enough for workspace yet not singularly dominating the entire space and merging well with the surrounding.
The robust studio displayed their true design passion by meticulously detailing every aspect of the space from entrance to its core, maintaining a harmonious balance between minimalism & layered design.
