An Art Home in New Delhi That Transcends Mere Living Space | Storey Tellers Design Studio
Upon stepping into the living room, one is greeted by a burst of energy and color. Thus mirroring the spirited personalities of the homeowners. Vibrant hues dance across the space, creating a dynamic environment that sets the tone for the entire home.
Yet, amidst the lively atmosphere, it’s the carefully curated collection of Indian artwork that steals the spotlight. Here, each piece tells a story of its own.
Moving into the dining area, art seamlessly intertwines with functionality. A bespoke artwork adorns an arched niche, serving as the focal point around which the room revolves. Here, the wooden dining table stands as a testament to solidity and grace. Thus anchoring the space while effortlessly blending with the vibrant palette that surrounds it. Every detail, from the aqua and white crockery unit to the carefully selected paintings, reflects the homeowner’s penchant for art and culture.
The integration of form and colour continues throughout the residence, evident in the thoughtfully designed console tables at the entrance. Each piece tells a tale of its own—one boasting whimsical butterfly-like legs, the other daringly painted in a vibrant blue hue, both celebrating the fusion of tradition and modernity.
In the master bedroom, memories take centre stage, intertwined with the homeowner’s colourful life journey. A refurbished console, a cherished wedding gift, finds new life in a modern setting, while commissioned artwork from Bhopal adorns the walls. Thereby adding a personal touch to the space.
Surprisingly, a bold black bed takes centre stage, a testament to the homeowner’s adventurous spirit and penchant for the unconventional.
The second bedroom exudes grandeur and charm, with a custom-made four-poster bed stealing the show. Rendered in a captivating blue hue and blending traditional carvings with contemporary flair, it serves as a timeless centerpiece.
White batons adorn the backdrop, infusing the room with rustic farmhouse aesthetics, while a cozy daybed beckons by the window, offering a serene spot for relaxation.
In the lounge area, attention to detail reigns supreme, with a modest yet functional bar unit catering to the homeowner’s needs.
A distinctive rope chair adds character to the space, while a cleverly incorporated mirror element amplifies the room’s sense of openness. Seasonal wallpaper serves as a versatile backdrop, allowing the ambiance to evolve with the changing seasons.
In this home, art isn’t just decoration—it’s a way of life, a reflection of the homeowners’ rich cultural tapestry. From the vibrant living room to the intimate bedrooms, every corner tells a story, weaving together the past, present, and future in a harmonious symphony of colour and form. This is more than just a residence—it’s a celebration of life, love, and the enduring power of art to transcend boundaries.
