Referred by his cousin, who initially approached us for a large residential bungalow, Dilip Jain sought our expertise for his newly purchased 4 BHK luxury apartment in Akota. While the builder had completed the civil work for the kitchen and bathrooms, the client was unsatisfied with the final results. We took the initiative to transform these spaces with interior luxury design by reimagining the bathroom tiles and kitchen furniture to suit his tastes. Each bathroom’s tile selection was meticulously curated to complement the room’s color theme, blending both style and functionality. This is a home where the interior luxury design story and bold strokes meet soft details through spaces that are curated for comfort.
Aashiyana Balances Interior Luxury Design With Crafted Details | J Architects
The design direction for the home became clear once we finalized the furniture layout based on the client’s brief: minimal yet luxurious, bold but subtle. To achieve this refined aesthetic, we used paneling in multiple rooms to cleverly conceal structural column offsets, ensuring a seamless and clean visual flow throughout the home.
The entryway sets the tone for the apartment. We introduced Kitkat tiles on the main door, jali door, and foyer wall, making an immediate statement. The passage from the foyer to the bedrooms is finished in rich veneer. It also features a captivating curve that softens the space and casts indirect light while elegantly addressing the obstruction of a large beam.
On one side, a wallpaper depicting illusory arches adds visual intrigue. Whereas the ceiling pattern flows seamlessly down to the veneer of the internal door, enhancing the sense of continuity. A sophisticated green shade theme, exuding harmony and elegance, unites the living and dining areas
The sofa wall, clad in fluted MDF panels with a smooth PU finish, is adorned with three custom-designed pastel artworks.
The dining area features a striking resin artwork by Bangalore-based artist Richa Chandrawanshi, and an arched doorway leads to the puja space, where the mandir is crafted from exquisite Jaipur marble.
A hidden door to the store is seamlessly integrated into the fluted paneling, in the kitchen on the opposite side. The ginger-hued quartz provided by the builder is paired with grey full-core laminate cabinetry, while the breakfast counter features a unique wooden leg in black polish. Overhead metal and ply shelves with hanging lights add a contemporary touch.
Each of the bedrooms reflects a distinct color theme, with white as the unifying base. The master bedroom, in warm brown tones, features a stucco wall texture and sucupira veneer, creating an elegant and inviting atmosphere.
A grand bed and side tables anchor the room, while the team complements the space with a lounger sofa, bespoke dressing unit, and TV console, all crafted on-site.
Krish’s room embraces a striking black-and-white theme, with white PU and black-polished veneer creating a bold, modern aesthetic. The feature wall showcases a custom mountain view wallpaper, adding a unique touch to the room’s design.
The team designs the guest bedroom, which also functions as a game room, in an elegant green theme. The boucle-textured fabric bed and white face artwork on the head wall create a vibrant yet tranquil atmosphere.
The TV unit accommodates a PS5 station, ensuring the room’s versatility. To maintain a seamless flow, the team integrates the bathroom doors in all the bedrooms into the paneling, completing the home’s cohesive design.
The team designs Manya’s room in soft pastel blue, placing a navy blue fabric bed as the centerpiece. A neon light fixture of a football player personalizes the space, reflecting his passion for the sport.
The adjacent balcony extends the arched design with contrasting stone veneers, metal planters, and a Buddha statue, offering a serene outdoor retreat.
