The Slow Living Home serves as an intentional sanctuary, providing a grounded counterpoint to the rapid pace of modern life. Three generations with distinct needs share the residence as a common refuge. The home gives the family space to disconnect, pause, and simply
The design philosophy prioritizes tactile honesty, utilizing an earthy palette of warm veneers, rhythmic fluted textures, and organic cane to foster a sense of presence. By eschewing trend-driven aesthetics for a timeless balance of light and shadow, the open layout encourages movement without urgency. Every bespoke detail and curated lighting choice works in harmony to transform the space from a mere structure into an inherently lived-in home, offering a quiet backdrop for the beauty of everyday rituals.
A Slow Living Home in Bhavnagar Balances Three-Generation Living with Timeless Design | Mudroom by Stuti
This living room perfectly balances modern minimalism with cozy warmth. The designers build the space around a soft, soothing beige palette. They add subtle touches of olive green to the chairs and dining table top. Overhead, a rich veneer ceiling with solid wooden bars creates a striking highlight. Throughout the room, curved panels add softness, while clean stucco textures and minimal wall panels let the custom detailing truly stand out.
The screen is an artful, interactive installation: gold PU-coated round pipes act as a canvas for a playful arrangement of beaded wooden balls and bars, evoking the tactile nostalgia of an abacus. The designers carry this dynamic rhythm onto the main door. They stud its surface with rectangular, pyramid-shaped wooden chips. Beside it, the custom jali screen features a precise cutout of that exact same pattern. When viewed together, they create a mesmerizing visual dialogue of embossed form and negative space—a perfect introduction to a home that celebrates thoughtful craftsmanship.
This modular kitchen focuses on smart utility and a clean, uncluttered look. By tucking hidden storage into the hallway, the design creates a seamless transition that doubles as a discreet bedroom door. The designers add a convenient breakfast peninsula to support everyday use. They pair it with practical two-toned cabinets that keep the kitchen organised. Together, these elements create a simple, functional, and well-integrated space.
Designed for a young couple who wanted a bedroom that felt simple, lasting, and not trend-driven, the space follows a quiet yet intentional design language — shaped through durable materials, ease of maintenance, and everyday comfort. A muted canvas is interrupted gently by custom MDF linework, turning otherwise plain surfaces into sculptural compositions. The geometry behaves less like paneling and more like embedded artwork — subtle, but impossible to ignore. In contrast, the opposing side of the room is grounded through a calm grey-and-wood palette, bringing warmth without visual noise.
One of the defining interventions lies in the shelving system: what appears decorative at first glance unfolds into concealed storage through hidden shutters integrated seamlessly within the display. Function exists here without announcement.
The result is a space that feels composed rather than decorated — minimal in expression, layered in utility, and designed to age gracefully with its users.
This master bedroom is a curated retreat designed for complete disconnection. Moving away from the noise of modern life, the room serves as a peaceful haven where the couple can pause & recharge
The centerpiece is the custom-painted backdrop behind the bed. Executed by a local craftsman, the delicate, monochrome tropical mural brings a sense of grounded artistry to the space. It is balanced by precise, vertical fluted paneling, creating a rhythmic harmony between organic, flowing forms and structured geometry.
Functionality meets refined aesthetics in the floor-to-ceiling wardrobe. While the design remains clean and minimalist, the shutters are elevated by a sleek PVD metal patti that frames each panel in a crisp rectangle. This metallic inlay provides a subtle, sophisticated shimmer that complements the room’s muted color palette and textured soft furnishings.
Designed as a space that could keep pace with childhood in all its moods, this room balances playfulness with softness. Rounded forms, muted blues, and tactile surfaces come together to create an environment that feels gentle, safe, and quietly imaginative.
Every edge within the room was intentionally softened, allowing movement, play, and everyday chaos to unfold freely. The study corner becomes one of the defining details — anchored by a sculptural leg crafted from carved wooden spheres, adding a sense of rhythm while opening up generous seating space beneath.
From energetic afternoons to slower, quieter moments, the room shifts effortlessly with its young users — playful in character, yet calm enough to grow with them.
