  • A One-of-a-Kind Entertainment Hub with New Standard for Design and Technology | Studio Skywell

The goal was to create a space that would capture the imagination of visitors and set new standards for design and technology in the region. The birth of Shimmers was sparked by the vision of creating a one-of-a-kind entertainment hub with new standard for design and technology in Raipur (C.G.). The project brings together a dynamic combination of a nightclub, outdoor poolside dining, and indoor fine dining, all within a single location. This concept was conceived with the intention of welcoming individuals of all ages, catering to a wide spectrum of tastes and preferences.

The architectural design of Shimmers was created with the aim of making every experience shine brighter for its user. To manifest this intention, triangular elements were purposefully selected as a fundamental design motif. The incorporation of fine lines and sharp edges inherent in this geometric form effectively conveys a notion of boldness and dynamism.

In addition to this, light has been strategically employed as a design object in The Shimmers. Recognizing its transformative power, light serves as a key element in creating an impactful immersive ambiance.

Each space within The Shimmers has been designed with a focus on creating an environment that is both visually stunning and highly functional. From the moment one enters the space, the gentle sound and sight of flowing water immediately creates a sense of calm and relaxation.

As visitors make their way through the space, they are greeted with the poolside courtyard that seamlessly binds the outdoor environment with the indoors.

The use of poolside courtyard as a transitional space is a nod to cultural heritage while also serving the practical purpose of connecting the different areas of the venue. Whether one is heading to the nightclub, the fine dining restaurant, or the outdoor dining area, this space acts as a welcoming and inviting meeting point for visitors.

The two indoor spaces, namely the nightclub and the indoor fine-dining area, are thoughtfully designed as two distinct yet harmonious entities. Although they share a similar architectural structure, they create a striking contrast in terms of light and ambiance.

The nightclub is an epitome of contemporary energy and excitement. It is enveloped in a captivating ambiance of blue hues, symbolizing the vibrant glow of artificial lights. Notably, the nightclub space features custom-designed lighting that creates a pulsating and electric atmosphere for its guests.

The furniture layout further enhances the experience, with the stage positioned as the focal point on one end and the bar on the other, resulting in a spacious area that can be easily tailored to suit various events.

In contrast, the indoor fine dining area embraces a warm and inviting atmosphere, drawing inspiration from the natural light spectrum. The space is bathed in soft, warm hues that evoke a sense of comfort and tranquility.

Natural light filters through the ceiling-high windows, casting gentle rays that accentuate the textures and colors of the space. This design choice creates an ambiance of elegance and sophistication, allowing guests to savor their dining experience in a serene and welcoming setting.

The outdoor dining area features gazebos that are strategically positioned around a serene water body, these not only offer a picturesque setting but also serve as a refuge from the scorching heat. They have been thoughtfully equipped with an elaborate passive cooling technology, showcasing the innovative use of terracotta pots, a mist pipe, and a fan.

This innovative system operates by periodically releasing mist over the terracotta pots, ensuring that they remain moist. As a result, the surrounding air becomes cooled and is directed downwards with the assistance of a fan.

This setup eliminates the need for additional air-cooling devices keeping the outdoor dining space uncluttered and aesthetically beautiful. The Shimmers strives to transcend the boundaries of conventional design and offer an environment that captivates and enchants its users.
