Aimed to cater to a young family, a deliberate selection of materials contributed to a harmonious aesthetic. The family desired a home that does not dip into the bucket of perfection. A home that encourages human intervention. Textures that one should feel, materials that stay true to their appearances, non-static spaces, and colors. The palette of materials is distinct, but when combined, they create a diverse and eclectic blend.

Our meticulous selection of materials, like lime plaster flooring, handmade tiles, natural wood veneers, and jute curtains, infuses the interiors with warmth and texture.
The home isn’t a showpiece. The design has been crafted to grow along with the kids, where the wood will age, the lime colors will evolve, the concrete will react to weathering changes, and the dyes will discolor. A home that celebrates imperfections, folly and free spirit.
The design aimed to cater to the needs of a young family. It prioritizes a space that would evolve alongside their growing children. Natural elements were at the forefront of the design ethos, reflecting a desire for authenticity and connection with the environment.
This conscious effort to incorporate natural elements extended to the furniture and fixtures. The cane accents adds to the organic allure of the space.
Central to the design narrative was the concept of dynamism, a reflection of the family’s vibrant lifestyle. Innovative features such as a dynamic library unit, movable bookshelves, and an adaptable bar underscored the fluidity of the space.
We strategically connected the display kitchen to the dining area. Further more it emphasizes the importance of communal activities like cooking and dining.
The integration of a display kitchen emerged as a key component of the design. It caters to the family’s penchant for cooking and socializing. We adopted a partially open layout instead of enclosing the kitchen within walls to maintain visual continuity and prevent the space from feeling confined.
Glass partitions with frosted finishes were strategically employed to strike a balance between openness and privacy, enhancing the spatial dynamics.
A notable aspect of the project was the infusion of vibrant colors to add personality and visual interest to the space. Bold hues such as bright red sofas and terracotta-finished walls served as focal points, further creating a lively ambiance.
The pops of color were complemented by the use of soft furnishings and accessories. It contributes to a harmonious and inviting atmosphere.
The absence of structural constraints posed both challenges and opportunities at the time planning and execution phases of the project. With the freedom to reconfigure the space according to their vision, the design team embarked on a journey of exploration. Reimagining room sizes and spatial layouts to optimize functionality and aesthetics.
In terms of materials, a predominantly natural palette was employed, featuring micro cement flooring, handmade tiles, and cast-in-situ terrazzo. Brass inlays were strategically incorporated to enhance the visual appeal of the terrazzo flooring. It adds depth and character to the space.
The inclusion of cane furniture pieces further enriched the natural material palette, contributing to the overall warmth and texture of the interior.
The design project for the young family in Lodha, New Cuffe Parade epitomizes a holistic approach to interior design, where meticulous attention to detail, thoughtful spatial planning, and creative innovation converge. A space that is both functional and aesthetically captivating.
By seamlessly blending natural materials, dynamic features, and vibrant accents, the design succeeds in not only meeting the practical needs of its inhabitants but also reflecting their unique personality and lifestyle.
