Project Sky Forest is a modern, eclectic apartment designed for a young family of three, blending functionality with contemporary design. The apartment boasts a large balcony with rare views of both the sea and the city skyline. With five thoughtfully designed bedrooms and a spacious, light-filled living area, we wanted to celebrate the openness, comfort, and character. A curated design of textures, materials, and custom elements reflects the family’s youthful energy, also ensuring timeless elegance.
A Curated Design Of Textures, Materials And Character Ensures Timeless Elegance In This Modern Apartment | Rhapsody Design Studio
This foyer exudes understated elegance, anchored by a custom curved credenza that adds sculptural depth to the curated design. Its rich burl wood texture and fluid form bring warmth and character to the entry. Above, a textured abstract painting in muted tones subtly ties the palette together. The minimal, intentional styling lets the furniture and art shine, creating a refined, welcoming feel from the entrance.
The design journey began with a simple yet ambitious idea: to create a living room that could hold its own as an artful composition while remaining approachable and livable. “The designer selected every element in the room—from the warm terracotta sofa to the sculptural lighting overhead—to evoke tactile richness and visual harmony. “The curated design materials—earthy tones, textured fabrics, and brushed gold accents—create a cosy yet elevated atmosphere.
A tropical mural behind the sofa gives a touch of whimsy and wanderlust, setting a narrative tone that’s both nostalgic and modern. Statement coffee tables and a patterned rug tie the space together, while layered lighting and thoughtful accents make it feel personal and lived-in.
The media wall is designed to disappear into the space while still making a statement. A floating console in rich, veined marble anchors the setup with quiet drama, while sleek vertical brass shelving frames the TV like a modern art installation. Neutral panelling keeps the look minimal, allowing curated art and accessories to shine.
A sculptural marble table, velvet chairs, and a bold metallic pendant set the scene for casual dinners. Behind it, a sleek crockery unit and seamlessly integrated hand wash area—finished in contrasting marble and matte black—blend beauty with everyday function.
This multifunctional office lounge is designed as a refined space that balances work and relaxation. A muted, monotone palette of soft taupe and greys sets a calming foundation, while a rich purple sofa-cum-bed adds a bold pop of colour and doubles as a daybed, offering both comfort and versatility.
The sleek black desk with subtle gold detailing anchors the workspace, paired with a plush, modern chair. Overhead, a trio of sculptural pendant lights draws attention to the ceiling mural. Here, abstract geometric patterns in black, cream, and gold create a striking visual statement, adding unexpected character to the room.
Art and decor are of a thoughtfully curated design to add personality. Tribal-inspired round wall hangings bring texture, while a bold black-and-white equine artwork introduces
The bedroom’s centrepiece is the arched headboard, upholstered in a striking monochrome pattern, framed by a luxe brushed gold wall panel that immediately commands attention. This metallic backdrop adds warmth and drama while setting the stage for layered textures throughout the room.
A sculptural black wall light introduces an artistic contrast, adding dimensionality and modern flair. The adjacent olive-green accent chair softens the palette, while muted bedding tones ground the space and offer visual relief.
On the opposite side, the styling console is sleek in black with brass knobs, lending a modern, minimal touch. Above it, layered art pieces—floral and abstract—add personality without overwhelming the senses. The inclusion of indoor greens brings life and freshness, reinforcing the room’s serene, lived-in feel.
The room utilizes a monochromatic, earthy colour scheme of warm beiges, taupe, and soft browns. This subtle palette enhances the sense of calm and makes the space feel both cozy and spacious. One of the interesting features of this guest room is the way the wardrobe is seamlessly integrated into the wall panelling, creating a clean and cohesive look. Rather than treating the wardrobe as a separate element, the design extends the same plaster finish and soft, undulating contour lines across the wardrobe doors, making them visually blend into the background.
The wall opposite the bed features three black arched mirrors with small figurines placed inside, giving a subtle nod to traditional niches in a modern form. The reflections enhance depth and play with light. A custom metal chair with a sun-face backrest adds whimsy and artistic flair to the room. Its mint green tone offers a slight deviation from the otherwise neutral tones.
This master bedroom is a perfect blend of bold design and serene luxury. A rich palette of deep forest green, charcoal, and gold sets the tone, while the statement headboard wall, inspired by architectural arches, adds depth and drama. Soft textures—like the plush bedding, fur throw, and layered curtains—balance the opulence, making the space feel warm and inviting.
A cozy reading corner with a striking yellow chair and sculptural floor lamp adds character, while the vanity nook with a wallpapered backdrop brings functional elegance.
Designed for a new-born baby boy, this nursery is a serene and gender-neutral space that balances softness with style. The room’s centrepiece is a beautifully hand-painted wall mural that brings to life a whimsical woodland scene with birds perched on leafy trees. This artwork not only adds a narrative charm but also introduces a gentle connection to nature, perfect for early childhood development.
The muted green wardrobe seamlessly frames a cozy daybed in a dusty rose hue, which adds warmth while avoiding traditional gender stereotypes. Soft greys and creams run through the drapery and rug, further emphasizing the neutral palette. Details like the personalized cushion and starry mobile over the crib add an intimate, dreamy touch.
