Kevadia House is a seven-bedroom residence designed for an urban family spanning three generations. Built on a compact 33 ft × 45 ft plot and flanked by neighboring structures on both sides, the house responds to the challenges of privacy, daylight, and openness through an inward-focused planning strategy.

A double-height staircase atrium forms the organizing element of the house. Topped by a large skylight, this central volume introduces daylight into the core of the residence while establishing visual connections across multiple levels. Beyond its role as circulation, the atrium serves as a shared spatial anchor, bringing clarity and cohesion to the overall layout. The changing quality of natural illumination throughout the day adds depth and character to the interiors while enhancing the perception of openness within the constrained footprint.
The planning follows a clear hierarchy of functions. The ground floor accommodates parking, utility areas, and staff facilities, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations. The first floor is dedicated to shared living, with living and dining spaces designed to support interaction and gathering. The second and third floors house six bedrooms, providing privacy while maintaining a relationship with the central atrium. The uppermost level contains the master suite, a home office, and an open terrace that extends the living environment outdoors.
The architectural language is defined by clean geometry, restrained detailing, and a warm material palette. Carefully selected textures and finishes contribute to a calm and cohesive atmosphere, allowing the spatial qualities of the residence to take precedence. Natural illumination remains a key design driver, shaping the experience of the interiors and reinforcing continuity throughout the home.
By responding directly to the constraints of its urban setting, Kevadia House demonstrates how a compact site can accommodate the needs of a large household without compromising comfort or privacy. Through a thoughtful arrangement of volumes, visual connections, and shared spaces, the residence creates an environment that supports both individual retreat and collective living for three generations under one roof.
