Tucked away in a serene and secluded lane of Nagarbhavi , is a two-level home in Bengaluru built 20-year-old. Home to a couple, their parents and a son. The family decided to remodel this load-bearing structure resulting in infusing new life into this remarkable property. The clients sought an immersive experience that seamlessly integrated luxury with simplicity. We responded by crafting an open, clutter-free environment bathed in natural light, where interconnected spaces foster a sense of fluidity. Mindful of the load bearing building, we carefully executed structural changes to expand living areas on both floors. 

The design prioritised the client’s child, creating ample space for exploration and play. Sophisticated elements were incorporated to elevate the overall aesthetic. Intentional minimalism brings together clean lines, elegant curves, and cohesive patterns and textures. A soothing colour palette completes the space, creating a harmonious environment that calms the senses.

Floor Plan

The floor plan features a foyer and an open living area. The living space visually connects the dining and kitchen areas. The lower floor also accommodates the primary bedroom and a bedroom for the client’s young son. The upper floor consists of a living area, a bedroom, and a balcony. While the Upper floor consists of a living area, a bedroom and a balcony. In this serene living room, white walls and Indian marble floors create a canvas of calm. Tailor-made oak wood pieces-including a sleek couch, coffee table, and floating media unit-add warmth to the space. Their clean lines bring a sense of sophistication to the overall aesthetic. Grey upholstery and dark greenery add subtle pops of colour, elevating the space.

The television wall is a clever design element, visible right from the entrance. Geometric-patterned MDF panelling gives the television a slim, streamlined appearance. A bespoke concrete-toned finish adds depth and character to the wall. The design seamlessly integrates the living area with the staircase beyond. In the communal heart of the home, a thoughtful layout seamlessly weaves together kitchen, dining, and living areas. A spacious six-seater dining nook, perfectly positioned, becomes the social linchpin – effortlessly cultivating connection and conversation. This harmonious fusion of spaces embodies the essence of relaxed, effortless living.

Kitchen

In this petite kitchen, clean lines and rustic oak unite in harmony, yielding a minimalist yet enduring design. Handle-less cabinets, a frame design, and bespoke shelving optimise storage without visual clutter. Dark grey-stained shutters showcase the oak’s natural beauty, while a subtle quartz worktop harmonises with the warm tones. Open shelves offer a canvas for personal expression and functional storage. Handcrafted by skilled carpenters, this wood kitchen embodies a modern yet timeless aesthetic, perfect for smaller homes.

A thoughtful contrast defines the spaces within this home. Common areas are swathed in a calming neutral palette of beige and white. The bedrooms introduce vibrant colours that reflect the unique personalities of their occupants. These intentional hues forge a deep emotional connection between residents.

A delightful contrast unfolds on the ground floor, where minimalism reigns supreme, except in the kid’s room, which explodes with vibrant energy. Whimsical forest murals transport the space to an enchanted realm, while a charming wooden bunk bed, shaped like a tree trunk, adds a playful touch. The room’s jungle theme, inspired by the child’s love of animals, is carefully balanced on a canvas of soothing beige and wooden tones, with olive and leaf green accents that evoke freshness and joy. This thoughtful design creates a sense of airy spaciousness, seamlessly integrating with any furniture palette. 

A curved kitchen entrance subtly subverts the home’s linear elements, creating a warm and inviting threshold that beckons connection to the living area. This thoughtful gesture not only visually links the spaces but also fosters a sense of openness, allowing parents to keep a watchful eye on child at play while bathing the area in natural light and fresh air.

Wardrobe

In a thoughtful nod to functionality and whimsy, this wardrobe’s curved shutters and rounded edges create a safe and inviting space for little ones. A clever open unit at the base ensures effortless access, while playful jungle characters on the knobs bring a touch of delight to everyday use. A plush of animal print bedding and lion-shaped pillows create a snug retreat for story time cuddles, surrounded by vibrant toys and accessories that transform the space into a playful kingdom for a little wild one to grow and thrive.

The central part of the upper floor is a more private and comfortably designed living room tailored for homeowners who love to host social gatherings, flexible spaces emerged as an important concern in the space. Catering to the homeowners’ busy IT professional lifestyles, we crafted a versatile space that seamlessly integrates work, play, and socialising. Inspired by nature’s curves and organic forms, the room features soothing colour tones, soft textures, and whimsical pop-up elements. 

Master Bedroom

In the master bedroom, a deliberate harmony of contrasting tones and textures weaves a narrative of dual personalities, expertly balancing the yin and yang of husband and wife. This sumptuous retreat, thoughtfully composed to cradle both comfort and intimacy, unfolds as a generous sanctuary, replete with indulgent amenities: a spacious walk-in wardrobe, private bathroom, bespoke console unit,

A thoughtfully designed TV unit with curvature fosters connection and shared joy, while prioritising safety with rounded edges. The adjacent study area, cleverly concealed within the living space, boasts ample storage and a statement desk with a teak wood totem ball pole.

Plush furnishings, including a semi-circular sofa and lounge armchair, create a modern and inviting atmosphere. Vibrant artwork, round cushions, and natural plants add a pop of color and energy to the space, while an abstract focal piece injects a multitude of hues, elevating the room’s visual appeal 

Custom-Crafted

In a symphony of style and functionality, the custom-crafted side table takes its cue from the headboard’s sleek silhouette, its cylindrical base and flushed drawers creating a sense of harmonious continuity. Meanwhile, the console unit on the opposing wall masterfully balances storage and aesthetics, its wooden shutters stitched together with emerald-stained slats and supported by cylindrical carved legs that punctuate the space with brass accents, infusing it with a touch of majestic grandeur.

As we step into the newly introduced walk-in wardrobe, the thoughtful addition of grooves imbues the space with a sense of texture and visual interest, rounding out the room’s impeccable balance of form and function. This thoughtful curation of design elements not only elevates the space’s aesthetic appeal but also creates a seamless union of beauty and practicality, a true hallmark of exceptional interior design.
