    Your home is clean and tidy, except for your teens’ room? Why is it so hard to make them clean their own rooms and keep them that way? Do you feel like you are talking to a brick wall? Let them put some music on while they clean because music is a true mood booster.

    Give Them Some Control

    It is their room, but it is still your home. Let them know what exactly you want them to clean, but let them be the one who controls all other facets. This will give your teen responsibility for their room.

    Respect Their Privacy

    Everybody deserves some privacy. However, threatening to come into your teens’ bedroom while they are away may give them a kick in the pants that they should do the cleaning themselves.

    Lead by Example

    You cannot expect your teens to take cleaning their bedrooms very seriously if the rest of the rooms are a mess. Kids imitate their parents which is why they are more responsive to what parents do than what they say.
