  • Travertine Stone Meets Veneer And Copper Across Trivera Residence Interiors in Ahmedabad | Palak Shah Design Studio

The name Trivera Residence originates from the fundamental design philosophy of the home. “Tri”represents the three primary materials that define the interiors—veneer, travertine stone, and copper metal—while “Vera,”derived from Latin, signifies truth and authenticity. Together, the name reflects an approach rooted in material honesty, where a restrained palette is explored through texture, proportion, pattern, and craftsmanship rather than an excess of finishes.

The residence is conceived as a cohesive journey through warmth, sophistication, and comfort. Instead of treating every room as an independent expression, the design establishes a consistent material language that flows throughout the home. The three core materials appear in different forms, finishes, and compositions, allowing each space to develop its own identity while remaining connected to the larger design narrative.

    Travertine Drawing Room

The drawing room establishes the first impression of the residence with a composed and timeless character. Travertine takes centre stage, explored through both plain and fluted finishes to create depth and subtle variation without introducing visual clutter. The textured stone backdrop brings a sense of permanence and natural character to the room, while the warm veneer framing adds softness and continuity. A copper-clad television unit introduces a refined metallic element, creating a quiet contrast against the earthy tones of the stone and wood. The seating is kept warm and inviting, with rich brown upholstery complemented by neutral textiles and carefully placed greenery. A decorative metal jali partition separates the drawing room from the dining area, allowing light, visibility, and openness to flow between the spaces while still creating a sense of definition.

Moving into the dining area, the material language becomes more graphic and expressive. A large veneer-clad feature wall acts as the visual anchor, detailed with a linear travertine Patti pattern that creates rhythm across the surface. The interplay between the warm wood grain and pale stone brings both contrast and harmony to the space. The dining table, surrounded by a carefully curated mix of neutral and muted green seating, continues the home’s understated palette. Decorative elements and layered lighting add warmth without competing with the architecture, allowing the materials themselves to remain the protagonists

    Serene Master Bedroom

The master bedroom shifts the atmosphere towards calm and understated luxury. Here, veneer and travertine are used in a more restrained manner, creating a soothing backdrop for rest. The fluted treatment of the stone introduces texture while maintaining a neutral and serene palette. Soft upholstery, layered bedding, natural textures, and warm wood elements make the room feel intimate and comfortable. The material composition is deliberately quiet, allowing craftsmanship and detailing to create richness rather than relying on strong colours or ornamentation. The copper-toned television unit adds a subtle highlight, tying the bedroom back to the broader material story of the residence.

The daughter’s bedroom interprets the same design vocabulary through a softer and more fluid expression. Curved patterns in veneer and travertine introduce movement and femininity, breaking away from the linear geometry seen in the common areas. The sculptural upholstered headboard becomes a focal element, layered against the textured stone backdrop. A mirror-clad wardrobe adds a classical touch while visually expanding the room and reflecting light. The combination of rounded forms, muted tones, tactile fabrics, and natural materials creates an environment that feels elegant yet personal.

    Playful Son’s Bedroom

The son’s bedroom introduces a more youthful and playful character while remaining firmly connected to the home’s overall material palette. The warm veneer continues through the furniture and architectural elements, while a subtle yellow accent adds energy and personality. A custom bunk bed becomes the centrepiece of the room, incorporating storage, play, and climbing elements into one cohesive design. The spacious play area allows the room to remain flexible and active, reflecting the needs of a young user. Bright, playful details are carefully balanced against the mature material palette, creating a room that can evolve with the child.

    Starry Terrace Lounge

The terrace lounge serves as a multimedia and entertainment room, offering an immersive expression of the home’s material language. Veneer and fluted travertine create a warm, textured backdrop. Concealed and ambient lighting accentuates the natural character of these surfaces. Generous upholstered seating and layered textures create a comfortable setting for relaxation and informal gatherings.

Above, a starry optic-fibre ceiling transforms the atmosphere and gives the room an experiential quality. It sets the space apart from the more formal areas of the residence. The lounge becomes a setting for movies, conversations, and quiet evenings, combining technology with warmth.

Across Trivera Residence, the design follows the belief that restraint can create richness. Rather than introducing an extensive range of materials, the project explores three authentic materials in depth. Each material changes in texture, scale, finish, and application from one space to another. Veneer brings warmth and continuity, while travertine introduces natural texture and permanence. Copper adds moments of refined contrast.

The result is a home that feels cohesive without being repetitive, sophisticated without being excessive, and contemporary without losing warmth. Every room contributes to the same material narrative while reflecting the personality and functional requirements of its users. Trivera Residence ultimately becomes a study in how thoughtful material selection, detailing, and craftsmanship can transform a limited palette into a layered and timeless residential experience.
