The Parthenon Experience Center offers more than just a sales gallery. It delivers an immersive art experience that captivates visitors through its innovative design and sculptural, custom-crafted furniture. The design breaks away from conventional sales spaces. It serves as both a showcase for the developer’s projects and a cultural backdrop for the client’s personal art collection.
An experience beyond a sales gallery | PS Design
To achieve this, PS Design in collaboration with Sunday Whites approached the space gallery with an art-centric vision, customising every detail – including furniture, lighting, wall finishes, rugs and door handles – to lend it a distinctive and bold character.
The experience begins right at the entrance, marked by a striking jaali feature that forms the safety door. It has been inspired by Pablo Picasso’s Girl Before a Mirror (1932). Modified to suit laser-cutting dimensions for a 10mm mild steel sheet in black, this intricate design immediately piques curiosity, setting the tone for what lies beyond.
Upon entering the sales gallery, a small welcome lounge seamlessly transitions into a grand experience lounge. An expansive, open space showcases vibrant tribal artworks across the walls. At its centre, a sculptural 20-ft dried driftwood installation commands attention. This area features a custom-made resin-block coffee bar on one side and a large conference cabin on the other.
The eight-ft coffee bar is a stunning design statement, crafted from 42 clear resin blocks encasing chrysanthemum flowers. Each block features two flowers placed back-to-back so that you can view them from both sides. Special embalming chemicals preserve the flowers, keeping their white colour and fresh look for a long time. The juxtaposition of art, nature and craftsmanship makes this coffee bar an instant conversation piece.
A central tunnel-like passage wrapped in ash wood veneer leads to the sales cabins, creating a sense of continuity and fluidity throughout the sales gallery. Built on a mild steel skeleton with a flexi-ply base, this elegant passage conceals the sales cabin doors within its vertical grooves, ensuring a seamless look.Inside the sales rooms, oval tables with sculptural ribbed bases are paired with vintage-style rattan chairs, offering a refined yet inviting setting.
The highlight of the conference cabin, which connects to the MD’s office, is Megalith – a iconic monolithic table designed with minimal entropy. Constructed with only two textures, the table embodies purity in form.
Three sets of sculptural legs support the marble top, while an internal mild steel framework and wooden cladding reinforce its structure. Concealed contraptions house socket points, ensuring both functionality and clean aesthetics of the sales gallery.
A glass partition connects the conference room to the MD’s cabin done up with light grey and wood tones exuding sophisticated minimalism. The bathroom features cast-in-situ walls and a concrete basin, complemented by a custom-designed light fixture.
The Totem Table, a compact and versatile piece, is designed as a monolithic structure with a birch plywood base wrapped in rattan. It serves multiple functions – as a side table, coffee table, or bedside table – with a discreet metal underbase that remains hidden from view.
At the rear-end terrace, a material yard has been planned, while the back office is positioned at the far left side of the space.
By blending contemporary design with artistic expression, the Parthenon Experience Center transforms the sales gallery into a multi-dimensional experience. Every element – whether sculptural furniture, curated art or material innovation –contributes to a harmonious dialogue between design, craftsmanship and storytelling.
