Perched on the 34th floor of Raheja Imperia in Lower Parel, Canopy Crest is a 1,850 sq. ft. home that reimagines urban living with spatial interior design as a poetic interplay between nature, form, and feeling. Designed by Vidhi Duggad Bhagat of The Blue Wall Studio, the space is more than just a modern home–it is layered, sculptural, and emotionally resonant.
The idea behind Canopy Crest was never to just create a beautiful space, it was to craft a sensorial experience where art meets architecture, where materials breathe, and where every corner is expressive yet calming, vibrant yet minimal.
The name Canopy Crest–meaning lush, green, and full of life–captures the very essence of the home. Shades of green, both soft and striking, run like a common thread throughout the space. From abstract 3D wave walls and bookshelf accents to gentle botanical motifs and forest-toned cabinetry, green is not just a colour here; it’s a medium to evoke emotion.
With Spatial Interior Design, This Home Reimagines Urban Living | The Blue Wall Studio
Nature is the foundation of storytelling. Think of the fluidity of water, the curve of a leaf or the texture of a bark. These impressions were abstracted into forms–soft corners, wave-inspired wall panels and a deep sensitivity to texture and scale. The client’s love for nature and literature further shaped the design story, bringing in layers of introspection and softness that make the home feel deeply personal.
The colour palette resonated with this thought process–never loud, always expressive. Greens brought in vitality and connection to nature, charcoal blacks added depth and grounding, while beiges, greys, and whites provided balance and breathability.
From the moment you step in, Canopy Crest sets the tone. The entrance unfolds like a visual overture, with its interplay of warm wood tones, charcoal black textured tiles, and a curved mirror that breaks the symmetry with grace.
A botanical wallpaper, lush greens, and a bespoke marble console lead you in like a gentle crescendo. The star of the show is a glowing glass-blown installation by Hive, suspended like dewdrops frozen in time.
The living and dining areas are where nature takes a more sculptural form. A sweeping green wall, crafted in 3D layers, becomes the focal point. It’s an artistic interpretation of topography and movement, grounding the space with emotional resonance. Curved furniture in ivory and ochre adds softness while a custom marble coffee table mimics the jaggedness of natural rock formations.
The rug below picks up on the room’s rhythm, green forms flowing into graphic black-and-white lines, offering a playful tension between chaos and control.
Every piece of furniture or textile has been selected for how it looks and feels. Boucle fabrics, matte veneers and textured marble combine to create a tactile story.
In the dining area, the palette warms up with a mustard floral wallpaper that glows like a canvas. A sculptural marble-top table anchors the space beneath another glass installation. The presence of circular green panels and wave motifs gently echo across rooms, linking spaces without overwhelming them.
The kitchen surprises with its playfulness, with green acrylic shutters that breathe freshness, paired with warm veneers that echo the living space. The use of white Statuario marble grounds it all in elegance.
The sons’ rooms speak in quieter tones but never without texture. Though distinct in mood, they echo the home’s material language: dark stone veneers, beaded mirrors, blue accents and layered greys.
Even in the bathrooms, nature is never far, Panda marble and organic stone tell the same story in a different dialect.
Each bedroom continues the narrative in its own way. The master bedroom is a cocoon of earthy drama where walls soften and colours deepen. A custom hand-tufted carpet headboard by Soisu wraps the bed like a sculptural embrace, blurring the line between furniture and art. The shades of burnt sienna, olive, teal, and ochre pulse with warmth and intensity.
Throughout the home, light plays a vital role. With sweeping city views and abundant natural light, window treatments are kept minimal. Materials shift in mood as the day progresses–veneers warm up, stone textures deepen, and shadows dance across the wave walls.
Canopy Crest is less a statement, more a meditation. It is an ode to mindful design, where biophilia is not a motif but a mindset. There are no indoor jungles or leafy clichés here. Instead, nature is abstracted and reinterpreted through curves, tones, textures, and flow. A PU-finished wall in the bedroom, inspired by weaving patterns, pays homage to handicraft. The curves of furniture, the soft transitions between spaces, and the rhythm of repetition create a sense of movement. It is like being carried through a gentle tide.
Besides, natural finishes, locally sourced materials like marble from Genuine Marbles, and an emphasis on timeless design ensured that Canopy Crest isn’t just beautiful today but ages with grace.
Canopy Crest is more than a home–it’s a mood, a memory and a movement. It’s where design meets emotion. Where every detail is intentional, every texture tells a story, and where living feels like an immersive, ever-evolving work of art.
