This 8,000 square foot Home in Indore is a Showcase of Refined Wooden Interiors | Poonam Akash
The home features a sophisticated blend of abstract textures, earthy tones, and contemporary furniture. Entering through the threshold, visitors encounter a cleverly concealed powder bathroom behind a scooped panel wall.
Beyond the entrance lobby, a glass door leads to the formal living room, which boasts complex wooden patterns, plush leather furniture, and ornate metallic accents.
At the heart of the residence stands an impressive double-height informal living area, where an asymmetrical wooden pattern adorns the focal wall.
The dining space exudes opulence through its playful combination of textures, including a striking golden portoro marble wall juxtaposed against fluted wooden paneling.
A custom travertine marble staircase with metal railings adds a monochromatic visual element to the home’s aesthetic.
Each bedroom reflects the unique personality and preferences of its occupants. The grandparents’ room emphasizes classic comfort, while guest bedrooms create cozy, welcoming environments.
The master bedroom incorporates the owners’ appreciation for marble, featuring it prominently in the bed’s backdrop. Earthy tones dominate the color palette, with hints of tan in the study and walk-in wardrobe, and touches of deep green against a predominantly beige and black backdrop.
Wood features extensively throughout the residence, even in passage ceilings designed to conceal air conditioning infrastructure. Crowning the home is an enclosed terrace lounge on the upper level, offering panoramic views of Indore city and furnished with vintage-inspired pieces from Gulmohar Lane.
According to designers Akash and Poonam, their signature style combines “timeless yet fusion interiors” with “bespoke luxury,” creating spaces that are both unique and personal.
