  • This Apartment Embraces Timeless Interior Design With Natural Light And Elegance | N. B. Architects

Located in Mumbai, on the 15th floor overlooking an open ground rare to the suburbs, this 2BHK apartment filled with abundant natural light called for complementing finishes to develop visual interest even without artificial lighting, embracing a timeless interior design ethos. The brief was to create a space that embodies simplicity, functionality and elegance with a touch of playfulness. To make it age-friendly for the client’s daughter as well as parents, it was necessary to create a calm and serene atmosphere through uncluttered design.

This Apartment Embraces Timeless Interior Design With Natural Light And Elegance | N. B. Architects

    Concept

Timelessness is a coveted quality in interior design industry that transcends fleeting trends and styles. A truly timeless design is one that exudes classic elegance, sophistication, and a deep sense of harmony. Our interior design concept embodies these very qualities, blending the refinement of fluted surfaces with the warmth of earthy tones, functional furniture, and a thoughtful combination of matte and glossy finishes.

    timeless interior design

Earthy tones are the perfect complement to the classic elegance of fluted surfaces. A palette of warm, natural hues – including greys, sienna, and sandy beige – brings a sense of coziness and approachability to the space. These earthy tones also serve to ground the design, connecting it to the natural world and creating a sense of harmony and balance.

    Living Room

The flutes, on the other hand, elevate the effective height of the space because of their longevity giving an overall voluminous feel to the room which is crucial in compact suburban apartments. The natural light fanning out in all corners further enhances the colour tones and surfaces bringing out the true features in them.

A backlit brown mirror in a compact foyer virtually enlarges the space adding just a touch of glamour. It welcomes one in the apartment thus setting privacy for the main seating area in the living room.

    timeless interior design

The furniture in the living room is functional and space efficient that serves multiple purposes and maximizes storage.

    timeless interior design

A wall mount dining table is easy to maintain with a kid in house. The L-shaped sofa lounger not only gives comfort while watching TV but also serves as an extra seat for tranquil evening conversations in balcony.

    timeless interior design

A neutral palette is maintained throughout the room not hard on eyes for one to relax at the end of the day in hectic Mumbai routine.

    Kitchen

Kitchen is designed with custom storage solutions to keep essentials within easy reach while maintaining a clutter-free aesthetic. The mint green paired with a muted wooden look makes a relatively narrower kitchen standout bringing life to the area and calm to the mind while cooking.

    Parents’ Bedroom

A very functional room with expandable sofa and storage highlights minimalism with a thoughtful combination of textured surfaces. This room also accommodates an elegant puja unit with decorative accents replicating some of the features from throughout the apartment.

    Master Bedroom

The flutes continue in the master bedroom thus harmonizing with the entire theme. The palette here is slightly tweaked with addition of nude pink to depict playfulness of client’s daughter maintaining the warmth in the space.

Wardrobe area separates from the main bedroom giving opportunity to create a spacious seating for social interactions and a display unit with a small study.
