Given the compact footprint of the residence, designed on a 140 sq. m. plot, the idea behind this simple home interior design was to open each space into an outdoor verandah or balcony to make the space look spacious and have an ample amount of sunlight, but still want to maintain the privacy in each space as the site is situated in dense residential fabric.
This Simple Home Interior Design Seamlessly Connects Indoors And Outdoors | Kalasyahee Studio
As this is the client’s second home, the main challenge we face is accommodating the client’s space requirement, as the whole family (12 persons) of clients visits the house on vacations and festivals. The residence is designed in a modern, contemporary style with clean lines.
The interior design concept emphasizes simplicity and a clutter-free aesthetic, creating an environment that is both functional and inviting. We integrated a rich variety of textures and materials, utilizing subtle color palettes that resonate with the individual needs and personalities of the occupants. Moreover, this careful curation ensures a harmonious flow throughout the home.
To facilitate fluidity in the common areas, we designed a staircase that seamlessly integrates the living and dining spaces.
Constructed from a 5mm folded MS plate with elegant wood cladding, it enhances connectivity between the living room, dining area, and kitchen. Thus, fostering an uninterrupted spatial experience.
Master bedroom is planned on the top floor to take advantage of the terrace and also to have opening in varies surface to have ever changing experience of sunlight in space as the day passes.
As the space gets an ample amount of sunlight, we designed a poster bed in the space. The user can hang curtains around it and have filled light through it during a day sleep.
In contrast, the girls’ room features a minimalist design aimed at creating an illusion of spaciousness. The soft pink wallpaper from Asian Paints, inspired by the tranquil Nal Sarover motif, introduces a refined texture that complements the overall materiality of the space.
In the boys’ room, we introduced elements that convey a distinctly masculine atmosphere, such as the dark blue CNC-etched wardrobe shutters, which enhance the room’s character while adding visual depth.
Throughout the private spaces, we carefully selected a diverse array of textures, patterns, colors, and materials, tailored to the occupants’ preferences, while maintaining a cohesive design language that unifies the entire residence.
