  • This Interior Design Of Flat Serves As A Home Away From Home | Dimensions

This interior design of flat essentially serves as a home away from home for a frequently traveling educationalist. This aged 2500 sq. ft. three-bedroom apartment in the posh R.M.V. layout in Bengaluru was offered to us to redesign.

Editor’s Note: “The interiors of this apartment are harmoniously united with minimalism, unique features, functionality, and style standards. Thoughtful details, a soothing pastel color tone along with customized furnishings transform this 2500 sq. ft. flat in Bangalore into a cozy getaway. From promoting ventilation to personally designed interiors, each corner echoes a retreat.” ~ Anusha Sridhar

With no brief from the client, we had the freedom to propose a concept that was more about putting together a theme emphasizing the efficient use of smaller areas and prioritizing functionality without sacrificing style.

A blend of minimalism with bold design features, focusing on simplicity and a decluttered aesthetic, was what the client green-signaled us on.

    Living and Dining Space

The uniqueness hits as one enters the home, with the walls and floor of the visible expanse, including living and dining spaces, stitched together in a seamless pastel blend of lime plaster and micro-concreting. The space is enhanced with a curved ceiling housing the lights, which wash the walls in a soft warm glow.

    Kitchen

The paradox awaits as one turns towards the open kitchen in a bold splash of blue.

    Bedroom

Walking through the house, one notices the bedrooms carrying this seamlessness with certain other design elements in each space that talk differently, be it a monochrome palette, a bold wallpaper, or a floor rug creating a statement. Lush greenery surrounds this apartment, allowing ample daylight to stream in and ensuring excellent ventilation.

Bespoke designs of furniture in wood bring in the warmth, while the soft furnishings and linens layer up to add that character to transforming the space to a home. Additonally, accessories and decorative lighting play a vital role in enhancing the décor further.

Moreover, this journey of tastefully incorporating these details in multiple corners of this home was a truly exhilarating experience.
