Luxurious living gets a new definition in this 3-BHK apartment designed by Design Studio Associates, headed by Principal Architect Ruchir Sheth and Interior Designer Purva Shah.
“Every material, every color, and every texture used in bringing this design vision to life has been selected keeping in mind the central theme of modest luxury. I know it is paradoxical—the whole concept of the design being both modest and luxurious at the same time—but that is what made it so interesting! We wanted to give it a rich look without making it look gaudy or overly opulent,” explains Ar. Ruchir Sheth.
Luxurious Living Gets a New Definition in this 3 BHK Apartment | Design Studio Associates
The living room is adorned in neutral shades, with the lounge set brining a pop of green into the setting. Supporting this, the focal wall with a glorious Shreenathji frame is also highlighted by the black marble tile and the wood polished panel in the middle. While the other elements, such as the rugs, the closely paneled walls with the golden trims, the chic floral-printed chairs, as well as the cascading center tables, add a lot of texture and personality to the room.
This reflective wall is a partition wall between the living room and the kitchen area. It not only adds a touch of glamour to the room but also creates an illusion of lavish spaciousness.
The kitchen is fashioned in a simplistic manner with a neutral color scheme. The modular cabinets are designed in a way that they meet all the storage requirements, marking a bold tick on the functionality of the space.
With features like a sleek electric chimney and a built-in counter-top stove, this kitchen hosts state-of-the-art appliances. The kitchen extends into the dining area, making the space inclusive so that all of the family can participate in cooking, eating, and conversing all at the same time!
The dining table is a gorgeous marble table with comfy pink chairs. The backdrop of the cutlery cabinet with a backsplash of the same mirrored surface as that of the partition wall lends a homogeneity to the design. The design of the cabinets, the cupboards, and the drawers provides ample storage solutions while obviously adding a touch of subtle charm to the space.
The pooja area is a customized haven of spirituality and serenity. With a bold red color and an abstract lotus design, this pooja area is inspired by the sacred Hindu philosophy. The shlok written as the backdrop of the idols and the way the lotuses are carved to be backlit gives it an etheral vibe. The drawers below the temple are ideal for storage, while the low seating stool makes praying every day a comfortable endeavor.
The rich wooden furniture matches and projects itself on the paneled walls of this study. The blue-grey of the sofa and the chairs, as well as the use of golden trimmings and fittings, lends the room a touch of royalty.
The Master Bedroom, with pops of Burgundy in its color palette, is a majestic treat. The color itself symbolizes opulence and wealth, giving the room a touch of royalty. The bed is at the center of the room with its quilted headboard that projects to extend with the veneered wall.
The presence of gold trimmings in the room ties the whole design together. The sofa-like chair in the corner is perfect to put your feet up and curl up with a relaxing book.
The wardrobe spans a whole wall but surprisingly, with the beautiful fabric panels, it adds to the elegance of the room instead of making it look bulky.
Overall, this room is doused in shades of lavender and purple. Meanwhile, a color palette that symbolizes royalty as well as creates a calming atmosphere. The boxbed with a headboard that stretches up to the side tables forms the focal point along with the textured wall.
The TV unit opposite mirrors the same textured wall, projecting a harmony of design. The wardrobe, with its lavender and white panels, complements the soothing aura of the room.
The guest bedroom is bespoke with a tropical wall art that also forms the base for the color scheme of the room. The velvet red of the bedpost is inspired by the red birds. Meanwhile, the moss green of the wardrobe matches the green of the trees.
The hues of blue and aquamarine are borrowed from the open sky in the wall art. Additionally, the tone of the wood in the dresser, the doors, and the vanity reflects the tone of the bark of the trees. Moreover, this room truly provides an escape and ensures a serene ambience.
“This home, as I said earlier, was a paradox of modesty and design. It was an exemplification of ‘less is more.’ It was a challenge to design it, but there is nothing we like more at Design Studio Associates,” concludes Ar. Ruchir Sheth.
